I've tried 4 different types of super stroke and really liked the Pistol GTR and the mid slim, but not enough to get rid of my pistolero.

If the Tour SNSR ever gets a better/solid color, id consider a switch.

I have tried the 3.0 in stores when they were first getting popular. Hated the. The tried a 1.0 and love them. Now using 2.0 and would switch and would never go back to the 1.0. The 3 and 5 felt like swinging a bat from the fat end. The 2.0 is perfect.

I have tried them twice. Once with a blade and recently with a mallet. Just can't putt with them. I'm not a wristy putter but that oversized grip just does something bad for feel for me.

Anyone else find that they harm your stroke?

Yes, I think that they harm the stroke.

I tried them all except for the massive 5.0. The newer pistol Superstrokes are better than the all round, circular ones and the flatso IMHO. I really wanted to like them but I don't.

I do think that they take out the wrists a little more in the stroke but they kill all feel in the stroke for me. I use the midsize PING grip. I have minimal wrist action while still maintaining all feel in the stroke.

It's obviously different strokes for different folks. Spieth is probably the best putter since Tiger on the big occasions. He uses an SS Flatso so who am I to say that they don't work?

I've never got along with the texture. Very slippery if there is any sweat or moisture in my hands.

I love the feel of the standard and midsize Winn grips. The one thing that I don't like about Winn grips is that they are not very durable. I'm from Ireland so I play in rain 12 months a year even when it's warm and humid from May to September. As a result, after as a little as a couple of rounds in the elements, they lose all their tackiness.

I use the PING Cadence midsize grip. It feels more rubbery compared to the initial tackiness of a Winn grip with a slight degree of tackiness that remains over time.

I gave the 2.o a try a couple of years ago. This year it was the GT 2.o. I just pulled that one after a 37 putt round. I never felt comfortable with the shape and size. I just switched to an Iomic midsize.

I have completely abandoned the specialty putter grips. In all their efforts to tighten up mechanics, I think they encourage too much of a focus on mechanics. I tried the Superstroke, but I did not sink more putts.

Went and got fitted and tried a bunch. What worked best is what I now use, a round Edel putter grip, and my putting has never been better. And you can use the Edel round with any putter. There are any number of golfers who would actually be better off with a round grip and don't know it. Those flat-sided grips feel weird and a little unweildy to me now.

I am one who putts better with fewer distractions. No alignment aids, just a dot, and a round grip and somewhat heavier head (370g) and a 30g weight in the upper shaft. I don't have to factor in using the grip properly. I use the face of the putter to aim it and just work on making a solid stroke. I don't say it is for everyone, but it's easy enough to try it.

Never tried a SuperStroke brand. Closest I've been is a PING PP62 and not really a fan of it. Gimme a PING 58 all day n night.

I'm with you there. I use the PING Cadence midsize grip. It has the same dimensions at the PP58 midsize but I find the Cadence midsize a little slippery than the PP58.

The Edel round grip is great. The flat-sided messes always made me paranoid about whether or not they were aligned correctly.

I agree. I switched to the Pure Big Dog grips. Living in Florida, humidity is always a problem. These have a great feel that remind me of the black Pingman putter grips.

I could not get long with them until I realized you really need to get more weight on the head to help with feel.

I loved the SQ one just really help the stroke out but wanted to get a ways from 110g grip, so went with a mid flatso and loving it.

However, I shove a lot of lead tape into my putter's cavity, so it helps.

I've given them a 2nd,3rd, and 4th chance. If I buy a putter now that has one on it, it gets cut off before I take the putter to the course.

I hate that every new putter comes with a SuperStroke. I can't buy a putter that I'm not confident with and I know the SuperStrokes aren't for me. I guess the good thing is that I don't feel encouraged to buy a new putter because nothing feels good with those big grips on them.

I 100% agree with this. The PING Vault range, the Sigma G range and the O-Works range all have Superstroke-type grips as the stock grip which have no feel for me. I can't tell if it suits me at all. The O-Works now have more standard grips on them but for the 6 months, they didn't.

At least the Taylormade TP Collection brought out their line with a standard grip as well as the Superstroke so you could roll both.

It seems that if I wanted to find out how any of putters feel, I would either have to purchase it and throw on a grip that I like or custom order one on the chance that I MIGHT like how it feels. It ridiculous if you ask me. I'm sure there are many more that feel the same way as us.

Trollish thread! Should I start a thread about how I dislike Winn grips or any other golf manufacturer for that matter? I'm certain there's a lot of people who dislike a specific brand, but I'm confused why someone would feel the need to make a specific thread about it.

Just dislike it and move on!!

Kind of how I'm confused why you'd reply just to note how you dislike the thread? Just dislike the thread and move on rather than comment, right?

Maybe I was interested if others found the same "kill the feel" feeling SuperStrokes gave me.
