Dustin Johnson Man Crush

RPryor

Recommended Posts

After today's win over Jordan Spieth, I have a very serious man crush with this guy.

Tomorrow I'm buying Just For Men beard dye and getting my beard darker.

Selling my driver and getting an M1.

Retiring all my golf shirts and getting adidas.

Burning my Icon Blacks and switching to adidas shoes. No wonder I wasn't getting laid.

This guy is a stud. 100%. My wife just saw me writing this thread and I'm in a lot of trouble :/

What DJ did off the tee on the playoff hole is why I don't see the USGA / R&A rolling back the ball, that shot was insane. That one shot also exhibited why DJ's A game is better than Spieths. Despite claims that Spieth is "sneaky long", DJ is just in another league distance wise. A lot of credit goes to DJ and his caddie for recognizing that playing the hole as intended wouldn't have given him an advantage and for having the guts to go for it with the tournament on the line.

The look on Jordans face when he saw where DJ's ball had come to rest was priceless, it reminded me of the old days when Tigers opponents would have similar expressions on their face after Tiger bombed a drive on them. Spieth is a great golfer and when he's putting well he puts himself at a different level on the green but its hard to dominate when you're giving up 60 yards off the tee to some other very talented golfers.

The putt in regulation was fantastic.

I think that putt may be a huge thing for DJ's confidence going forward. As great as he's been the last couple of years, he always seemed to do it with this ballstriking & length. You never had the feeling he was a guy who was going to make the big putt when he had to have it. Can't say that now.

I am not even a fan of the guy, but it's hard NOT to be impressed. That putt, the new putter and the steadiness by which he played all 18 holes. Jordan called for the EMT and the paddles after that putt on 18 went down.

Then to stand there on the first playoff hole as the guy lines up left and hits a drive 340 must have been a punch in the face for Jordan.

There is winning and then there is winning. Faldo was speechless.

First, I don't know that the beards and clothes have that much to do with getting laid though Madison says that she loves my beard, so there was one positive to the cancer(I initially grew it to cover the "radiation rash"), lol

Secondly, If your wife's attractive and ya ever meet DDog, well, you're probably gonna be back in your prior situation of never gettin laid, lmao

These "man crushes" can be a dangerous thing, lol

Good luck with it??

My Best?

Faldo did seem a bit speechless. The 18th was an interesting layout for a finishing hole. DJ's drive on the 73rd hole reminded my of my Tiger Woods 2005 days where I could only take lines like that in a video game.

Missed that look on YJS face. It must have been priceless.

His drive on the 73rd hole literally made me laugh out loud. I don't have a man crush on him, but he is fun to watch.

what or whom is DDOG?

I'm gonna give ya credit here for asking a rhetorical question cuz we both know that you know exactly who "DDog" is however it being Monday, I'm out patient now instead of hooked to IVs in a hospital bed so life's a hell of a lot better and brighter than it was last Monday and the fact that ya probably didn't see the interview where they asked one of DDog's posse(DDog's description, not mine, lol) about what he was like off the course and away from the crowds and the guy said "DDog's one of us, a regular guy"

THAT my Friend, is who DDog is?

Just a regular guy who happens to take it 340+ under the gun

Stay well,

RP

Also appreciated the fact he quickly hit his approach shot within seconds after Jordan on that playoff hole. No waiting. Now that's how I like to watch golf.

Can't lie I'm a Spieth fan too but I was rooting for Dustin to make that putt on 18 and jumped out of my chair when he hit that drive on the extra hole.

Idk how you couldn't have a crush on DJ!

The dude POUNDED it on the playoff hole, tucked a 60* wedge in tight to 3', and nailed the putt.

Dude's beard is made of steel wool, his girlfriend is a dimepiece, and he's got mad swagger.

Spiethy Boy didn't have a snowballs chance in hell in that playoff.

GOOOOOO DEEEEEE JAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY !!!

DJ will have his ball in the air before his playing partner has his club back in his bag.

I love watching DJ play and to see him hit a ball in person is that much more impressive. I like to watch him play when he is at Torrey for the Farmers. Love his swing and his swagger!!!! He stepped it up a notch with that putt on 18. Nice to see someone give Spieth a dose of his own medicine.

DJ is stupid fun to watch in person. So gifted with the driver and irons.

I don't know if this is time or place for this given the bromance novel being written in this thread, but.....................is DJ's driving ability more impressive than Jordan's putting ability?

.

More Impressive? Absolutely!

More Valuable? Absolutely not.

Random thought here. I'd like to see DJ's irons face on. He's been using those MBs for so long now I want to see how worn-out the sweet spot is.

He's won a tournament every year he's been on the PGA Tour. That's a decade now.

He's worked on his wedge game and it's paying off. (if Rory calls for tips, hang up!)

He won even taking the David Toms route on the 72nd and followed Spieth's lip in putt with one of his own.

United States Open winner (at Oakmont no less) under circumstances that will never make me question his mental toughness again.

He's matched the entire win and major total of Tom Weiskopf and he's only 33.

career earnings: $47,423,812, #6 all time

fair driver :D
