Looking for the basic rundown on blade Circle Ts

Hey everyone-

I am about to enter the market to purchase my first Circle T but I am not sure about the differences between the different blade styles that are available. Can anyone provide a basic description of the differences between 009s, trisoles, etc. ? Any personal preferences or insight is very welcome, thanks!

It's more that I'm looking for additional information. I'm a big Scotty nerd. I just think it would be dumb to purchase something without the input of people that are more knowledgeable than myself who own Circle Ts as many posters on this site own the type of putter that I am searching for

TCC is where you should be researching.

Take your time. Took over a year to find the right 009 and been happy ever since.

I agree with doing some research on TCC. Here are the basics that I have picked up.

Newport shape would be a Tour Rat or 009 in the modern CTs. The Rat is the engraved version of the 009 and about 1500 less. The most recent version is the Masterful which has subtle shaping differences that were achieved using a more advanced milling machine. The Masterful shape is available in both the Rat and the 009. To confuse matters even more, the Super Rat is a Rat with a GSS insert.

The Newport 2 shape would be a Rat 2(or concept 2) in the engraved version and the timeless in the hand stamped. The tri sole is a timeless variant that is currently only offered on gss models. There are older non gss trisole Newport 2s around but in the current releases the trisole is reserved for gss. There is also a Super Rat 2 that has a gss insert.

As far as materials go, there is SSS, carbon steel, and gss. Gss comes with a substantial price premium. The carbon steel models are coming out less frequently these days but provide a softer feel than the standard SSS.

That is a basic breakdown of the blades you will see being produced currently. Obviously there are many other variations on the market. If you have a specific question that would be easier to answer.
My ITB changes too frequently to keep up with it here.

Obviously the full GSS putters come at a premium as they are the softest and least produced of the newport style putters. Putters listed as high as $12000 on ebay and the Gallery Putters on SC usually run $10000.

As stated above fewer of the carbon steel putters coming out but are still readily available on the market and still offer a soft feel better than the SSS putters.

The Rats specificity the Super Rat to me offers the best value as you get a GSS insert in the putter without paying the premium for a full body GSS putter. I bought mine for $2000.
