So far?... Jordan, but only because he has more wins and Majors (until now) than Justin...

Gotta think this is a retrospective down the road. Now that JT seems to have the fuse somewhat under control, i can actually see him surpassing JS. JS had the once in a generation year but I really think his negative self talk eventually will get the better of him. That and his somewhat unconventional mechanics that seem to lead to getting really steep under pressure.

JT 68/92 cuts made JS 105/125.

Inconsistenty leads to more wins so over the long haul I give the nod to JT.

However that violent swing scares me so advantage JS.

Gut feeling JS just seems to have the intangibles and that putting.

I enjoy watching JT much more than Spieth, but if I had to guess who finishes with the better career, I'd probably have to say Jordan. But this is a tough point to ask that. Spieth clearly has that rare "it" factor. Thomas seems like he's starting to develop that. It would be nice if we can keep wondering about this for the next 15 years.

Spieth is a generational talent, a guy who competes seemingly week in and week out. JT, IMO, is a player on a hot streak, an incredible hot streak to be fair. I think JT is better than Webb Simpson, but Webb had one of those years where he won a lot, including a major, but has cooled off since. I think eventually JT's swing gets away from him. Face it, that incredibly aggressive lower body move is going to get tougher to sync with his arms as he gets older.

I think Spieth has Tom Watson type career numbers, and Thomas gets to 15 wins or so with maybe one more major.

Im huge JT fan ever since I saw him hitting 200 yard 7 irons on morning drive after winning Web.com Tour Championship. Thats why i said lets not debate this one. Ive worn Ralph since my junior days but always worn more athelic shoes. Now i got icons.

Not too impressed. Cauley and Cantlay have already done and will do far more.

Webb Simpson has never won more than twice in any one PGA Tour season (2011). He won his major in 2012. The only time he won that season.

So the streak (a few wins, a major, and a second in year-long earnings) occurred for around 365 days, not necessarily a calendar year.

All I'm saying is that hot streaks happen all the time in golf. Unless JT is a unique player, his success will taper off, which is statistically the more likely outcome. Seeing as only a handful of players have won 5 events in a season, he's likely got more in the tank than other "streaky" players.

For the record, I clearly stated Justin is a superior player to Webb. I was merely trying to demonstrate the occurrence of hot streaks on the PGA Tour.

Well, they're both same age, YJS is a little larger than JT, over time, that could make a difference. YJS has a long time girlfriend, might indicate he's a little more stable in his home life.JT longer, YJS a better putter and better around the green. The known unknown is the health going forward. JT goes at it hard enough to possibly begin to break down as he gets close to 30, Jordan doesn't seem to have as violent an action. It will be (I hope) an interesting rivalry to watch for the next ten years or so.

Look at their wins and where they got them, theres a pattern that leads one to believe one is a generational player and the other is not. no knock on Thomas who is a special talent

I've been saying that for years, but I've yet to see it pay off.

Neither, they both might as well give up now.

Thomas' swing is too violent and after this season he will be resigned to a Tiger like life of occasionally posting a video online to prove that he is still able to play. As for Spieth, well don't get me started...his swing is wack, he hits it too short and his putting can't keep saving him. They are both done.

DISCLAIMER - Those are things that I have read on here anyway.

My pick would be Jordan Spieth for the following reasons

1. He puts himself in a position to win more than any of his current contemporaries in big moments

a. 1 shot out of the playoff at the 2015 Open

b. 2nd to Jason Day at the 2015 PGA

2. He SHOULD'VE won the 2016 Masters

3. He already has 3 majors

4. And he's at it again at the FED EX CUP almost winning the first 2 events.

Spieth. Because he's a better player.

And yes. Spieth by a mile. Thomas will have a hall of fame career if he stays injury free. But YJS is looking at all time great status. All time top ten player potential . Thomas. Not really. His mental game isn't on the same level.
