Callaway Matte finish ball ??

Was in my local shop today talking about the new matte finished Wilson Duo ball. At the end of the conversation the salesman said that Callaway has a matte finish ball coming out. He couldn't remrember which model. I said the Supersoft ? And he thought so but wasn't certain.

Any details on this ? Which model and what color(s)?

Not sure about Callaway but I know for a fact that Taylormade has a matte ball coming.

What's the fascination with matte balls? Does the finish cause the ball to spin more or something? I see them all the time in shops and out on the course I play all the time, but I've yet to try one out.

I find something about the matte color, especially the red, visually pleasing. This game is very mental so anything that helps keep you in a positive mindset I guess is good?

I didn't care for how the Vivid played. I wanted to love that ball just because I loved how it looked.

They are far easier for my eye to track as they transition from sky to trees to grass and the roll on the ground. Guess it's less glare or something, my eyes aren't what they used to be but I can follow a matte finish Volvik all the way until it stops rolling in a way I haven't been able to track normal balls for at least 10-15 years.

Volvik has done well with their Vivid Matte White finish so it appears the other manufacturers are following their lead. They are a little bit easier to spot in the rough on sunny days when the grass is still wet.

Picked up a couple and plan to play with them a few holes tomorrow. So far on short chips, they seem to bite very well, as much as a Z-Star. I need to see how they are on full shots and the 50-75 yard feel shots. So far I like the color and softness.

The new superhot bolds are the same as the superhot 70s right? I currently play WS dx2 softs in the cold and wet and 50 elites in the warm. I was wondering how these compared to the 50s and if they would be suitable for me when it starts to get hot in the summer.

I'm pretty sure i'm over thinking a lot of things but i've being playing less than a year and am looking at any advantage I can get to try and compete with my colleagues at my work golf society.

Forever in search of that holy grail of long and straight off the driver with out too much compromise on short game spin...

You seem to use wilson, why not the soft spin for warmer weather. As a fellow high capper, a short game spin ball, often checks up too early.

They are going to be super hot. Plays decent. Goodbye Volvik Vivid after they launch. I believe they are going to be around the same price point as well.

They're cheaper at 30$ for a 15 pack. So far they're my favorite Matte ball released. The cover feels slightly more tacky to the touch than the others I've tried (Volvik, Maxfli, Wilson Duo, Vice) and they play softer than the Volvik.

I have been playing sparingly with the few I bought but have a pack coming for my birthday this weekend and will play them exclusively for a while.

I enjoy hitting chrome softs but when I run out I will have to spend over $45 for a dozen now.... I might give these a go as well as the Titleist Tour Soft didnt quite live up to what I hoped for the price point. My course sells singles and single sleeves so I dont have to commit to the whole 15-pack.

If anyone has a nice in depth review that would be awesome!

Played the Superhot Bold in Red today and Wow it’s a nice ball. Drove the ball well, it really is good from tee to green. Don’t think I would pay $30 a dozen for them since the K3 is 1/2 the price but love the looks of the bright color and the ball has great feel.

Are they easy to see like a yellow ball?

I found them extremely easy to see in the grass . In the air they were the same but really pops against green background
