New Cobra CBs/MBs Coming Spring 2018

Met with my cobra rep today. He confirmed that the new cobra CB and MB irons will not be released until spring of 2018. I know many threads have been out discussing Cobra for 2018, however, I had not heard this information. If it is already out there, then I apologize. The sales rep had no pictures and no other information regarding these irons.

How are Cobra sales, I never see any bags with them at courses. Initially I thought young golfers might gravitate toward them because of Ricky. Not sure if lack of wins or what affects the sales volume. Many Used to like their woods during Achusnet ownership (as did the pinnacle long drive team). Their irons look good but never see anyone playing them.

I think they're the best irons I've played. And I've played them all... I've played Cobra now for probably 8-10 years now since the King Cobra mb's back when Geoff Ogilvy was playing them and now still play the S3's super sweet irons. Play the FlyZ+ driver and played Bio Cell+ before that, very underrated clubs.

Cobra irons and Tour Trusty wedges are fabulous!!! Their former AMP Forged, Fly-Z+, and now KING Forged Tec irons have been, and are, extremely overlooked. They're wonderful irons with a beautiful tour shape, thin top lines, and yet are roughly 1/8" larger than standard forged cavity backs.

A LOT of people on this site could benefit from such an iron. Way too many small muscle back users here!!

... I have played the Amp Forged and Fly Z+ and am currently playing the Forged Tours. They look smaller at address than they really are which for most of us is the best of both worlds. You get a nice compact MB look at address but not too compact and you get added forgiveness for your mishits and your off days.

Cobra makes a huge mistake by releasing their irons too late in the year. Everybody has come out with their stuff, it's been ordered, then Cobra brings up the rear. It's a baffling strategy.

?... Why spend money in the winter on sticks you can't use very much? Added, the late summer release is already old stuff. I would not be a fan of buying late summer/fall and then barely getting to use them. As it is for me, fall is time for bargains and winter experiments..

The problem is that their late release winds up going well into golf season. Usually late April/early May. If avid players don't have clubs by The Masters, it's too late.

I don't really care that DSG and GG have stopped carrying them. I don't honestly see me ever going there to buy clubs again. Will stick with my local fitter who can properly fit on the right launch monitor. And they carry everything. Maybe if I see a club I like on the used rack or a shaft I could get cheap from a used club, buying clothes, and tees, etc. will be about it.

I have the amp cell pro cb/mb. Will never buy another set of irons. I never buy new, no point for me. Will most likely buy my next set when the kings satin go on sale. Have never hit an mb iron with as much forgiveness on thin shots which is my miss. Great irons!!

I have always been impressed by Cobra's irons and woods. They perform very solidly overall. I still am surprised by how much advertising, marketing, and what pro players get paid to play, influences our decisions in what clubs we choose.

Can't wait to see the new irons! They always have great looking and feeling MB/CB. My first real set of irons were the King Cobra II (1997). Damn I'm old!

I am a bona fide Cobra nut. I love my Fly-Z Irons and Hybrids and F6 Driver.

My issue now is that around me, the only real Golf Retailer is Golf Galaxy. They told me they are not going to carry the Cobra line anymore, so I literally have nowhere to try or purchase Cobra clubs unless I get a custom fitting in Philadelphia and order them there. Sucks.

Didn’t cobra just release new blades?

Weren't the King MB two seasons ago?

I believe you are correct. Late 2015 or very early 2016. Shiels did his review of them in Oct. 2015
