Are PX ZL Shafts Similar to PXI????

Hello!

I played a set of Ap2 with PXI shafts for a few years and loved them. They launched so easily. Looking for a new set today and hit the MP18SC with PX ZL 6.0 today and they felt VERY similar. LOVED how easy the shaft was to load.

Are the ZL and PXI Similar? Are the ZL a replacement for PXI?

Will they launch as high as PXI??

Im looking for an increase in launch and spin from DG S300

PX LZ and PXi are different profiles and the LZ is not a replacement. The PXi is basically a lightweight version of the PX. PXi 6.0 is around 113g whereas PX LZ 6.0 is still 120g. LZ should launch higher due to a weaker mid section (loading zone) and should feel a bit smoother. Personally between the two, I didn’t feel many similarities. With the LZ I had to go up a flex though. I have played PX 6.0 for years but when I moved to the LZ I had to go up to 6.5’s to maintain the feel I was looking for.

Fyi, PXi was never really discontinued. Production was halted because PXi shafts were having an issue with the finish of the shaft wearing off and rusting. It seems they have fixed it seeing as the PXi is a stock offering again for Titleist 718 TMBs.

I might give the ZL a go. They felt amazing when i hit them.

I'm glad I came across your comment for two reasons: 1) because I wasn't sure if the PXi had been discontinued or not, and 2) I was worried that mine were rusting a tiny bit due to my own neglect.

PXI are off the Project X site and replaced (i would say) by the catalyst product

huge mistake by them, but what do i know

not sure what other conclusion you would make

I played 2 sets of them before switching to Modus, but never had any rust or wear issues, so I think that is punk
