Got a sleeve and played with them yesterday comparing them to my usual B330-s and a Pro-V1. Definitely feel softer feeling than both which I didn't like. I felt like I got little feedback, especially when putting. Very straight of the tee, like everyone has said before, and hard to shape with. Decent around the greens. Not much spin, but stays put pretty good. Wouldn't be a ball I would game because of how soft it feels, but would recommend to my buddies who aren't very good based on the ball wanting to fly straight.

I was bout to start a thread as I just received some today. Was somewhat hoping they were the AVX but based on the pics above are definitely NXT/Velocity type balls.
Forgot to mention since they were clearly nxt or velocity I have them to our head pro to share with a junior player. They are more likely to be thrilled having brand new balls to use.

I received the same test balls as the OP. Good distance and reduced side spin off the driver. One hop and stop into the green. But WAY too hot off the putter compared to the Z Star I normally use.

I noticed a massive drop in distance vs the 2017 ProV1. Has to be the NXT for 2018 or some other lower compression version. Wedges were like playing with a new range ball.

Could it be the DT TruSoft? I haven’t been able to use mine since the cold weather came in. Seems very soft on carpet shots, though.

Not likely. Titleist just released a brand new TruSoft ball in September. The next balls to be updated are the NXT/Velocity lines.

Whatever it's going to be (looks/feels a lot like an NXT to me), it's a decent ball. Comparable distance to premium balls, pretty good spin on full shots (backed up a 7 iron on a fairly soft green). Soft feel on putts and chips, just not a lot of greenside spin. OK check on bunker shots, but not much on partial wedges, pitches, and chips.

I heard from a reliable source of mine that has a contract at his store to sell Titleist products that these balls are 60% AVX and 40% NXT tour S. So some of us got AVX to text and some got NXT tour S to test. The initial AVX test was inconclusive based on the feedback in the limited states they were released in. So that is why these test balls were sent out.

I certainly got NXT then, as mine had a suryln cover. Has anyone gotten any with a urethane cover?

I got two sleeves. Neither have the “test” marking. One sleeve square, one triangles. Anybody else get this?

I haven't seen an AVX in person, but the dimples definitely look like it.

Test balls had a harder surlyn cover.

Had the opportunity to have a wide open course for 9 holes, and played multiple shots with these and 2017 ProVx on almost every hole. Found they were shorter off the driver on similar strikes every time, about 10-ish yards. Not a lot of spin, and dead straight (no complaint there), but I hit a draw and setup for it. Found the right side most of the time.

Scoring irons is where they played well. From 140 in they were money. Dropped all three a few times from various distances and was within short putt range far more times than not. Not a ton of spin, mainly drop and stop a foot away.

Green side pitches ran out quite a bit and not a lot of spin. Brand new Vanilla wedge where the ProV would check up nicely.

Putting. They feel really soft and fly off the face. Ran a lot of putts way past the hole and greens were not real fast. I liked the feel, but dialing them in would be something for the practice green.

    My 2 cents...
