Same as my signature, I think. Can't remember if I had the 3-wood or that 17° TM 4-wood. Likely the 4-wood.
Hey chopper, what are you hitting there?

    Titleist 910 8.5°
    TM SLDR S 17°
    Titleist 585h 19°
    Mizuno MP Fli-Hi 24°
    Titleist AP2 710 5-pw
    MacGregor MT Pro DW 52, 56, 60°
    Ping MyDay (prehistoric)

    On the bench:
    Titleist 910 9.5° (and a longer shaft)
    Ping G5 15°
    Mizuno MP Fli-Hi 18°
    Titleist 585h 21°

After how long does being "out of form" turn into "a bad golfer"?

My best was this summer; shot a 69 at Indian Peaks in Lafayette, CO. I've played that course hundreds of times, but couldn't miss that day. Was 6-under thru 5 holes with 4 birdies and an eagle. Hung on for dear life after that.

Anyways, in the bag that day were:

    2016 M2 3w- Fujikura Pro

    816 AP2- 3-P

Macgregor driver, Dunlop 3 wood, Karsten 1 1-iron, 1974 Hogan Directors, Titleist sw, 8802 putter. Earliest really good round I remember, maybe '75-'76? Still have all these clubs, causing some fairly pointed comments from my wife about "how many **** clubs do we need around the house?".

That would have been the Bay Course at Kapalua where I shot 66 in about '90. I had all Ping Eye2 irons (1iron, 3-L), Ping Anser putter, MacGregor 693 Persimmon driver, Orlimar 3 wood (if I wasn't hitting my 1-iron well). That was my best round ever because it was very windy and rainy that day. I looked like Bishop Pickering that day except that the good Lord left me alone with my personal record.

Trying to remember since it was back in 2000.

    I shot a 4 under 68 with a pretty unremarkable bag

Titleist 975 9.5 with a Pro Force gold shaft

Knight 3 wood, steel shaft (I had broken my 5 wood in a fit of rage and never replaced it)

cheap Dunlop or Maxfli irons with R flex graphite shafts that I got from Play It Again Sports (3 - W)

    Cleveland 588 56* wedge

    Odyssey Rossie putter

I think the closest i have been since then is 1 under

Cool topic. My low round was an even par 72, which I shot twice within 4 days. The first was with 18 consecutive pars, and the next time out kept the pars rolling until a bogey on 9 and birdie on 10, for another even par round.

    The setup was:

    NIke VR Pro irons 4-PW

    Callaway Diablo Edge 3 wood

    Titleist 915 Driver

Cleveland 52 and 60 degree wedges

    Odyssey White Hot #9 putter

My best round came a long time ago, but I can still remember what I had in my bag when I shot an even par. I also remember that it was slightly drizzling that day which slowed the greens down which was a big reason for my low score.

I shot my lowest career score and lowest tournament score this year with the same setup:

64 on my home course and 67 tournament score in my town.

    Cobra F7 Single length 4-LW

Ping G25 driver (I’ve tried replacing this 10 times the last five years it always shows up under pressure)

Adams Idea Pro black 16 and 20 degree. (I use the 16 as a driving iron)

Tom Slighter long neck Edmonds putter

First time in a while everything in my bag seems set, but I’m sure I’ll try some new drivers like I do every year...

My best is an 83 this summer.

    Titleist 913 d2 driver

    Mizuno jpx900 2hybrid

    Mizuno jpx900 4 hybrid

    5-gw Mizuno jpx 825pro

    Vokey sm6 54

    Vokey sm6 58

    Scotty Cameron futura 5s

Only things left in the bag from this list are the 4 hybrid and putter. Shortly after this round I thought it would be a good idea to get fit for irons. I had a bad day swinging the club at the fitting session and ended up with clubs that weren't quite Right for me and my scores digressed some.

I recently got refit and feel like I'm back on track! Hopefully I can lower that a little next summer

Was around 10 years ago, with my Dad's clubs. Think they where old Cobra knock-offs, but do remember he had a small headed Nicklaus driver. I had my Dad's car that day as he needed to borrow my truck. Buddies at work wanted to leave early to play golf, luckily he had his clubs in the trunk. I did not even have golf shoes, wore sneakers. Came out with 3 birdies within the first 6 holes. Ended up shooting 73.

I played a lot that year and I was hung over so I couldn't swing out of my boots, this was the TSN turning point of my game understanding that I did not have to go all out to get the performance I needed.

So true. The less I go after it, the better I score. Overswinging, especially with the wedges, is something that kills my game. When I feel like I don't even think about swinging the wedges, just let them swing, much better results in every way. Crisp contact, great spin. My favorite general swing thought about golf: 'Are you mentally tough enough to relax?'

Earlier this year I SHATTERED my best score by 4, but it was helped by a couple of things - nice day, easier course if I drove it straight - 400 yds shorter than I normally play, tighter than I normally play but it was helped by the best driving day I've ever had from 2 thru 17, a chip in for an eagle on a 570 yd par 5 and another for birdie on a 470 yd par 4.

    That was with

    -Cobra LTD pro

    SLDR TP 14 deg

    915H 2 hybrid

    4-PW 2013 x forged

    Cally MD3 54 WS

    Miura C grind 59 deg

    Lajosi HSM proto putter

I dont consider that round nearly as good as 2 others, on much harder courses and/or conditions. Those were

    Driver - 907 D2 or 905S Cally FT Tour

    Irons - 1 iron, 3-P Armour 845m Miura CB 301 4-PW

    3 wood - 15 deg 906 F2 I think 13 deg 904 F

hybrid DOnt think I had one Bridgestone J33 18/21

Wedges/Putters - I go thru those too fast too remember. One was with a Left handed putter and the other was a RH Yes Diana I believe. Wedges no chance to remember.

The 2nd round (Cally Ft Tour driver) led me to a 3 wood change. I could kill that 904F from the tee, it was a 2nd driver for me but I couldnt hit it from the ground. Got to 18 having made 8 birdies in the round (including 5 in a row early on, still my best), needing an eagle to shoot what would have been a very special number for me-despite two doubles already- on the 580 yd par 5. Tried to kill the 18 degree hybrid from 265 over water because at that moment I REALLY wanted the eagle and didnt make it. Walked off with a 3rd double bogey and decided I couldnt give a spot in the bag to a 3 wood I could only hit off the tee. It was 5 years ago and every time I play that course I think about wishing I had that shot back.
