This is an annual thread for Colorado residents. Feel free to post anything Colorado golf-related in this thread. For example...
  • Great deals on green fees or club memberships
  • Recommendations for Colorado club fitters, swing coaches, etc.
  • Looking for a playing partner/golf league/club membership
  • Colorado golf course news/reviews
  • How awesome it was golfing last weekend wearing shorts and a t-shirt ... in January
  • How awesome it was golfing last weekend wearing snow gear ... in June
  • Accomplishing the Colorado duofecta of skiing and golfing on the same day

I know it's a little while away, and things can change...but forecast is saying Saturday is going to be 56º.

That's more than warm enough for me to play a round somewhere. Anyone have any plans?

There it is! Welcome to 2018, everyone.

    Greetings, all.

I'm spending the next six months in the Brighton area, and am looking for a year round/heated outdoor range where I can practice for the next few months. I know there's a Top Golf in Centennial, as well as a heated double decker range close by that which I think is part of a muni. Centennial is a 40ish minute drive one way for me though, so I'm hoping to find something a little bit closer.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Near Brighton, I believe Green Valley Ranch has one as well as Colorado National. To be honest you won't need the heated garage or range though. There will be a week or two where you won't be able to practice but other than that, temps will be in the high 40s to 50s. When the sun is out, that is actually warm. Being closer to the sun has its advantages lol.

    Happy New Year guys!

Wish I could do Saturday but committed myself to the Zona vs CU BB game in Boulder. Have fun.

    Happy New Year Colorado WRXers.

Brian/Jacob... I *might* be in for Saturday if you guys are looking for another. I've been fighting the flu for the last several days... today is the first day since the day after Christmas that I actually feel like a human again. Assuming I'm back to my old self by the weekend, I'm hoping to get out and play. Got to take advantage of 55-60 degree days in January!

I could be down to play to this weekend if the weather holds. Got a new shaft for Xmas (gift from me to me lol) to test in the driver. Plus been a long time since I hit a ball. Figures I am going out of town next week and the weather starts to get better.

Edit: Also picked up a couple dozen Wilson Duo U to use in the off months.... ****'s flash sale at 15.00 a box =)

Darn. I'm out for Saturday. The AM is no good and Mollie got offered a last-minute nannying gig in the PM. We're already planning to go far, far away for Christmas 2018 (among other hopeful vacations this year), so I'm on dad duty while she watches some other kids. Have fun out there guys. I'll be thinking of this day when I'm golfing in Hawaii this coming December!

Not much at all. You might be good as it is listing around 48-50 on Thursday.

Those temps work for me. We’ve got a foot of snow on the ground so it’s going to be quite a while before we can play here.

Feel like an actual grown up today! Purchased a Club Glove travel bag & stiff arm thing. Something about traveling with my golf clubs just makes me feel like an adult.

Just in time for the tournament I'm playing in Vegas next weekend. (which is why I really need to get out and play this weekend. I'm so rusty right now)

All snow is melted and most courses are in pretty good shape for January.

Yup! Played on the tour all last year, and had a real fun time. My game kept improving towards the end of the year. Pretty limited field so far (16 people in my flight), but it'll be fun just to travel and play a couple new courses. And possibly even make money from it!

I don't even think I've played that much unfortunately. Been good, but super busy lately with the family, holidays, work, and studying for a cert. Things will be slowing down soon though! Are you considering doing Monte's clinic again? I'm torn...

Just booked 1:07pm at Green Valley Ranch for tomorrow.

Teeoff.com had it for $23. At that time, it's highly unlikely I'll squeeze all 18 holes in, but I'm also super stubborn and will keep playing until I can no longer find where my ball ends up.

I think there is still 1 more slot open at that time if anyone wants to join!

I wish I could. My wife is taking our 5 yr old to copper for his ski lessons - I'm flying solo with the 8 month old.

Jacob, did you already have to prepay for that time? Looks like that group is full, but I snagged a single at 12:29 and there are a couple spots still open as of 2pm. It's $35 with cart on the GVR website, so a couple bucks more, but gets an extra 40 minutes of sunlight which should mean finishing 18.

Shoot, yeah I did prepay. I'm gonna see if I can cancel and join that group instead. I love being able to play a full 18.

Edit: I'm such a doofus. The 1:07 time I booked was for today! WHOOPS. I could of sworn I had booked tomorrow. Clearly I'm still at work and didn't make it out to GVR by that time, so I'm on the phone now to cancel. Just signed up for tomorrow at 12:29 though. Thanks for the heads up! Without that, I would have shown up very very confused tomorrow afternoon. Looks like I'll see you tomorrow!

Do any of the course do funky things, ie temp greens or tee boxes during winter? Thinking about Murphy Creek on Tuesday. If the forecast holds it looks like 60*.

I know Kings Deer down in Monument covers a good portion of their greens in the winter. I've never gone down after they've done this though. Riverdale Dunes uses mats on their par 3's to tee off from. I think that's about it though.

Thanks Jacob, we just don’t want to get somewhere and get surprised. Might even end up at Buffalo Run.
