Pretty sure he is one of three current PGA tour players who have kept their cards for 20 straight years. Furyk and Lefty being the other two.

That's the 3w I mentioned in the other thread but I goofed. It's obviously not a 3+. Asked his caddie at the Barclays in 2015 what the deal was with it and he said he couldn't pry it out of JJs hands. It was the only 3w he got along with. I was surprised to see him use something else last year. Glad to see it's back in the bag. He smoked it every time when I walked with him.

This “I’m a pro golfer, I should have my own logo” thing is getting ridiculous.

Seriously. Outside of a handful of guys on Tour (Phil and Tiger and VJ, possibly Ernie) I don't think hardly anyone else should be sporting a logo...

But it seems to be the trend du jour nowadays

Nice bag.

Wouldn't surprise me so see a set of Artisan wedges in the bag at some point.

This Im a pro golfer, I should have my own logo thing is getting ridiculous.

Really? These guys are a product, and their distinctive logo is part of what defines them.

I think JR has a nice set-up & his logo is clean & simple

I think “JR” needs to work on his branding then, lol.

I think little gold Hogan medallion looks cheap. IMO the irons would look much better without it.

It's not just unique to golf; a lot of players in the NBA have their own logo, even without a personal signature shoe

They are a brand so I don't have a problem with any of them having a logo. They are promoting themselves and have a "brand" logo to be associated with.

What's JJ Henry's brand that he has to promote?

Ping G410 3W 15.5* (DI-7X)
Ping G425 Crossover 3, i20 4-PW (DI-95X, PX 6.0)

I'm coming in with the same topic as all the other comments on here -

1. No disrespect to JJ Henry but when JJ Henry has his own logo, you know that this pro golfer logo thing has gone too far!

2. That 3 wood!

Titleist TSR3 15* Project X Hzrdus Smoke RBX 6.0

Regardless if you or I feel they have something to promote doesn’t matter. They are self employed so a logo gets them and their brand noticed regardless. Some “brands” aren’t as big as others but doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to promote it and make it bigger than what it was yesterday.

I know what you’re trying to say here but I think you’re overstating the potential vs. the facts. You’re ignoring the variable of placement. Nobody in the world really knows that J.J. Henry has his own logo or a “brand” to promote except the people who saw these pics.

J.J. Henry promoting his brand by etching a logo into his new irons is like me buying ad space on a billboard and putting it in the woods behind my house. At that point it’s just a “because I can” type of move.

I do understand what you’re saying. I was stating that his brand may not have traction right now and is just on his irons but maybe he is working on something and this is the start. As being “self employed” they have to promote themselves so I say swing for the fences and see what you can get out of while you can since it won’t last forever. JJ isn’t a big name at all so I see the question of what’s the point of him having a logo completely but that is my opinion on it. I don’t think he’ll be a household name by any means.

If a few people notice it’s better than nothing. Can’t build anything if you don’t try. If it was mean I’d put it on the bag, shirt, my caddies shirt. Haha

I hear what you’re all saying and I don’t mean any disrespect to J.J. or anyone trying to promote themselves or a brand. I just don’t think there is any return on this model at all. I’ll use Sergio Garcia as an example. He’s had his own logo on the back of his hat longer than anyone else I can remember. Can you tell me how that logo has done anything for “his brand”.

Palmer and Jack and Player invented logos. Tiger might have predated Sergio, but you’re right after Tiger I remember Sergio’s being the oldest.
