First Look? 2018 Cobra King Forged Tec Black Irons for release on 01/19

Personally more interested in the one length version, people keep saying on long the long irons are with the originally forged tec, hopefully that will carry over to the new forged tec one length

It says on the link available to order from Friday, I hear they are shipping soon after!

My Cobra fitter has heard nothing. So seems strange to be able to order Friday and ship soon after when you can't even get fit yet.

Remember, that site is in the UK. The irons may not be released this soon in North America

any update on these? still cant seem to find any information about them online besides this thread, and somehow Golf Digest gave them a old rating for the year when they havnt even been realeased yet. (shows how useless GD's info is....)

I actually emailed Cobra about them this week. The response was that the info would be out next month (March) and they would be released in early (April)....I'm guessing in time for the Masters?

Talked with Cobra Canada on the phone today and they said these will be avlaible/released The end of March. They also confirmed that the SL irons will be also in LH! Thank you Cobra!

sure hope that means the clubs will be in the fit bags in march! my wife is buying me a new set for our 5yr anniversary!

Black AMT shafts as standard. $-taper without upcharge. Otherwise same as other Cobra offerings.

I’m guessing the Amt and the $ Taper will be black...any idea if other shafts will be?

No they are the only ones that is black.

Blacked out if very cool, but after a while of playing chrome heads and shafts... looking down at all black is very odd. For me, I got a blacked out RTX with black KBS shaft. It was so odd I actually couldn't play it well for a while, the looks from one extreme to another just messed with my alignment and my mind a bit. I adjusted though... and it does look cool. Sure to turn heads, whether for bad or good.

My fitter said they are not going to make if to the fitting carts which I thought was odd but his rep told him its not worth the cost

Irons look good. Cobra seems to be gaining some momentum

New article from golfspy on these, look like they are using the diamonized black treatment their new wedges are getting. Only a few years later than Maltby's DBM clubs. Graphite option is the UST Recoil ES SmartWrap.

Assuming they are true forged I would believe so. From what I've read the Maltby DBMs bend easily as they are true forged but the MMBs don't as they are form forged.

Forged stainless steel insert on the face.. I wonder if it will feel soft as forged carbon steel..

Why are the shaft lengths so long? 39"-4iron, 38.5- 5 iron? Any chance these guys get the stock swingweight if you want them minus a half inch? Does Cobra measure them differently?

Ive read Cobra does measure differently, also these have the Arccos sensors in the grips which adds another .25 to the length as well.

Pretty excited for these in April. Now the dilemma, traditional variable or possibly a combo set, 5-7 One Length, 8-Gw variable

Yeah, the DBMs are 1035 carbon, the MMB and the new PTMs are 8620 carbon. The PTMs are labelled as form forged, so we might be able to assume the MMBs are the same.

Can you get these without Arccos?

And as a DBM owner that has tried the Cobra Forged Tec offerings, the DBMs are far superior in the feel department. Anything close to high on the face of the Corba irons is clunky.
