Course: Torrey Pines GC (South), 7,700 yards, par 72. Designed by William Bel in 1957, and updated by Rees Jones in 2001. The Torrey Pines’ North course, 7253 yard par 72, will also be used for the first two rounds of the tournament.

Last Year: Jon Rahm shut the door on his first professional win with a 60-foot putt for eagle on the 72nd hole. 54-hole leader Brandt Snedeker stumbled on the final day to a one over 73. Charles Howell III and C.T. Pan shared second, 3 shots back of Rahm; Woods missed the cut in his first start after a 19-month layoff.

I'm actually very excited about Tiger's return to official PGA TOUR golf, and Torrey Pines seems like the perfect place for it to happen.

We will really get a good indication of where Tiger's game is this week. This ain't no Hero, folks.

As usual, I'm hoping the big guns feature well this week, but the one guy I'm really pulling for is Jason Day. I'd love to see him make a big move toward the highest reaches of the OWGR, and hopefully it starts this week. Should be a great tournament.

Fun to watch this one on TV as I've played both tracks.

Friend of mine who is a good player went to Torrey for the first time a few months back. He said the North course (re-designed in 2016) is every bit as good as the South.

Hoping to see Tiger and Phil paired together on Thursday & Friday (and Sunday)!

Its good just to see golf back and starting to get into full swing again. Hopefully, Tiger can play well and a full(ish) season.

So who is going to finish in 2nd place at Farmer's behind Tiger?

Given his track record there I would expect him to play well and be in the mix come the weekend. If he's on the first page of the leaderboard tv ratings will break records for this event and WRX's servers might well melt down.

I don't know coastal weather, but 70's sound at least warmish, it won't be cold and rainy, so it sounds like a good place for Tiger to kick off his season.

I don't even care who is playing. That course is easily one of my favs scenery wise. Gorgeous.

Pumped! Hawaii and Palm Springs are fun, but this always seems like the start to the PGA Tour season for me. It just kicks off a string of really good stops.

Isn't it a pity, at a time when he happens to be playing very well again and wouldn't embarrass himself, that they didn't give a special invite to Rocco Mediate this week at Torrey Pines?
