Standard and Custom Leather Putter Grips by BestGrips

Going to start dropping pics of our standard and custom putter grips in here. BestGrips hand makes genuine leather putter grips just north of Houston, Texas. The biggest difference in a leather putter grip vs synthetic grips is feel. Nothing really captures the feel of impact as natural leather.

Becaus of this, we put a little more weight on feel in the grip and offer four main leather as our standard putters. The leather we make in-house, the MicroPerf offers a firm and tacky feel, the football leather Gridiron (cowhide, not pigskin) offers a firm and rough texture, the baseball glove leather Major Leaguer brings an oiled soft feel and the GT-L brings color variety with a soft and waxed tack feel. These four dofferent leathers bring a great selection of feel to the table but, shape plays a roll, too.

To accommodate the two main putting storkes we offer the Pistol and Paddle shapes. The Pistol is designed to suit the championship putting stroke (open-closed) with squarer sides for face awareness and a pistol notch under the non-dominant hand. The Paddle is more of an 8802 round grip with a flat top to offer some face awareness but focused on letting the hands flow straight back and straight through.<br />

I am not familiar with your sizing, but do you offer a midsize pistol? I was looking at the GT-L.

I'd recommend the Major Leaguer in the Pistol shape. Similar shape to the pingman, will have that matte black color, but better feel with the oiled leather

I am not familiar with your sizing, but do you offer a midsize pistol? I was looking at the GT-L.

Not at the moment. Our Pistol shape is .85" wide and 1" deep at the widest part. The new One25 will be 1.25" wide.

Is the microperf putter grip new? I love my major Leaguer but I don't remember this as an option looks really nice.

The Rancher is as close as we'll get to bringing more colors. The addition of color really challenges the performance side of the leather.

Is the microperf putter grip new? I love my major Leaguer but I don't remember this as an option looks really nice.

Yes and no. Originally, the Microperf Putter received less ProTack than the golf grips. At the time there was the MicroPerf, Classic and Gridiron Grips. Then the Major Leaguer came along, followed by the GT-L and we discontinued the MicroPerf and Classic. There was demand for a tacky putter grip, though, so we reintroduced it last year with more tack.

Great, that'll give me time to find a new putter to put one on!

We're looking at a similar profile with just a little more size in the One25

The true test will be the oval/teardrop end cap...to many try to mimick it but have hard edges on the top, or completely round...

This is a one-off Christmas Leather Putter Grip we made to match an EVNROLL Putter, with black and white Two-Tone stitching (same profile as the Hand-laced). We actually have a few panels left over for putter grips on hand. If you want a custom one (like this or your own way) just send me a pm.

Bringing this thread back to life. What would be the closest putter grip to the Scotty Matador? Paddle or Pistol?
