Vokey 54 degree in an M grind or a wedge works V grind?

I need some advice. I am filling out my bag and have a 50 glide 2 as an extension of my iron set that i ordered with the same px 6.0 shafts as my irons and my 58 is a vokey K grind 12 degrees bounce which I really like for bunkers and swings where I do not need to manipulate the clubface.

From my research i am looking at either a sm6 or sm7 in a 54 m grind or debating a 54 v grind.

My current 54 is a vokey custom 54-14 with a dg spinner shaft, but I cannot really manipulate the clubface because the leading edge sits too high.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I like the 54M, it's pretty versatile. Never played the V grind.

I tested the SM6s for a half hour at at demo day, and later had a Titleist Thursday fitting with them.

I'm fairly basic in my wedge set-up, maybe open the face a degree or two on occasion, so I fitted out best with F-grind for GW and SW. I was undecided on LW. (ended up not getting Vokey).

The M-grind has significant heel and toe relief, so that might be what you want to open up the face.

As for V-Grind, I'm not familiar with it other than seeing this ad. https://www.vokey.com/product/WM77.html

I am left handed so my only experience is with the 60 degree wedges with those bounces. My experience with the 60.08M was that it would dig too much for me. I have a steeper AoA though. To put it in perspective, the higher bounce F grind in both the 50 and 54 were best for me but I use those mostly for full swings. back to the 60 degree wedges, I dropped the M grind because I found myself chunking too many (full swings and pitches/chips etc) and it really started messing with my confidence around the green. A wedge fitting confirmed this and pointed me to the S grind. This was a little more versatile than the K grind for me and I thought it was great until I needed to really open the face and clip it off a tight lie or other similar touch shot that required a fairly open face. Again the S grind for me was much better than the M grind even in these situations. After a few months I was still a little suspect of the S grind when I needed to open the face. The miss there was almost feeling like the club would skip and try to square itself back up and the finesse shots were coming out too hot. This was about the time the wedgeworks V grind came out. I broke down and bought one and am glad I did because it's been perfect for me. The forward bounce allows me to be aggressive on full swings and not worry about moving too much dirt as was the case with the M grind and the significant sole relief allows me to open the face around the green and on tighter lies where the S grind just seemed to have too much of the bounce engaged. if any of this sounds like what you experience I would give some consideration to the V grind, it won't be leaving my bag for a while. Hope this helps, good luck!
