What do you do with your older clubs?

Have you found places to donate them to? I guess I could contact the local high schools?

I have a few clubs I wouldn't mind getting rid of. Craigslist isn't getting any hits, and they really aren't worth enough to bother with selling and shipping via ebay and the like.

Part of the issue: they are a bit stouter with jumbo grips.. so I don't think they'd be helpful to donate to most folks.

I have a few more, but the main three: 9 degree SMT Nemesis with an SK Fiber Tour Trac 100, 9.5 degree Adams 9015D Prototype. Graphite Design Tour AD 70g X- stiff and a Sonartec NP-99 15* with a Rifle Prototype 65g X-stiff shaft

No shaft puller, otherwise it'd love to put the SK Fiber TT into something else. Not sure what to do with them!

Sell/give them to buddies that play older junk.

Hey now, I'm the one that plays older junk, lol. That and I have no buddies. I haven't been involved in golf for a few years so I don't know anyone around my area.

Donate the heads and keep the shafts for future experiments :)

If I had access to a shaft puller, I'd probably just do that.

I also have many old sets, some are Hogans of the persimmon time. Kind of planned on rebuilding them some day for a lark and a laugh but still haven't got around to doing so. Fact is, golf gets in the way too often. When I have the time to work on clubs I too often end up playing instead. I've dismantled some sets to make room and easier storage but that's about it. Still planning and thinking.

Buy a shaft puller. Sell the heads for whatever the puller cost. Now you’ve got some “free” shafts. If no one wants the heads - dumpster. And you’ve still got the shafts.

There is a golf course near my house and they have a golf shack that does mainly grip and shaft replacements but you can have custom fittings done and get Mizuno clubs or Anser clubs from the owner. The owner will take in your old clubs and gives them away to someone that needs a club for the range or they have kids that are looking for starter sets. Like others, I have a set of clubs that I custom ordered 25 years ago and never used because I had back surgery, these clubs have a Stiff+ graphite shafts on them. I can't really sell these and don't want to give them up yet, so I hang onto them. I just got back into golfing and bought used clubs with a R flex shaft because I can't swing the clubs at the same speed I did before but maybe I can get back to that speed (its a dream because I am now 67) but these clubs looks so good but are ancient technology or I may just reshaft them to R flex.

I've donated to The First Tee. The jumbo grips won't be ideal for kids, but I'm sure they'll be thrilled to get them.

First Tee programs sometimes sell adult clubs to Play It Again Sports, and use the $$ to buy clubs for kids.

Yea, re-shaft em man. I had an old set from 10 years ago that were too stiff. Put regular steel shafts in them and they work great now.

I have a cheap set of Tommy Armour irons and hybrids I might give to First Tee. Might be fun for a beginner.

Personally I'm a hoarder so I still have Adams PNT hybrids, A4 Tour iron sets (3 sets I think), Adams 9015, 9016, Classic V2 heads. I'll probably never use them, but what I'd get for them is not worth selling personally.

First Tee is always a great thing to donate too. I do have some other clubs I acquired for free that I'd like to donate to (thanks for the guy who posted the first tee link)

As far as a shaft puller, just get a propane torch from Lowes or whatever and heat the hosel, use an oven mitt and pull them apart, then knife off the ferrule and keep the heads or shafts if you want to keep one or the other. Even if you've never done it before it's quite easy.

I know how to pull heads, but don't have a heat gun or torch and I don't want to bother pulling graphite without an actual puller as a few of the shafts I'd like to reuse. I found a thread for a DIY puller using a can crusher, so I might try that if I don't give the clubs away.

We are moving, so I was just looking to get rid of extra "stuff". I might try to contact the local highschools and see if they have a kid that wants them. If not I'll see if there is any first tee programs that will take them.

Graphite Design Tour AD 70g X- stiff

Does it happen to be orange? Lemme know :pimp:

Nah, it is red. It was from a Tour Edge Exotics.

I emailed the local high school coach to see if he had any kids that could use them. If not, I'll probably just take them with me and pull the heads. There is nothing around here in terms of a golf shop, first tee, play-it-again.. nothing. All of it is about an hour south.
