I have noticed that the original (2016) model seems to be the top selling model

On all the used sites they can’t stay in stock but there is usually plenty of 2017 versions.

Do you guys feel the 2016 M2 will stay the better performer/seller

IMO it’s because it’s better priced than 2017

Yes but on 3balls the price difference is maybe $30 doesn’t seem a lot to sacrifice peorformance is the 2017 is better

I personally have a 2016 version because they're older and therefore cheaper.

I think in a general case, they're both popular products and since the 2016 model has been on sale for longer and for cheaper, the chances of it having lower stock is much more likely. So I can see why there's less stock now a days.

I find 16 fade biased while 17 seems to be draw biased.

I just bought another 16 m2 last night so I have a backup because I find it the best driver I've ever played and it's inevitable that I'll crack the face on my current one.

I have a 17 and love it.

Love my 16... But haven't felt the need to try the 17 or 18 offerings!

You don't think that might have something to do with the fact they've been sold for a year longer? I bet there's even fewer R7's than R9's!

Yes. On Sunday. M4 was all over. Used same shaft too. M3 was about as good as 16 m2. Longest drive came with m3.

I haven't hit the M4 yet, but I'm testing out the M3. It's going to take a lot to replace the 16 M2. I've only had 1 round with the M3 and it does seem to be more consistent in terms of yardage on the drives.

It seemed the m3 had a little bit to offer, somewhere between 5 and 10 yards. But in the limited (15 balls) sample I did manage to hit one a bit high toe. I'm a fader and that high toe miss went right. That shot concerns me. So I bought a backup m2.

I will say that I did like the feel of the m3/4 more than the 16 m2. The m3/4 have a more solid feel to them. Almost callaway epic like hardness to the face.

2016M2 has earned a bit of a cult status on here as one of the best drivers TM has ever put out.

The '16 does spin a bit less than the '17, so it can be longer for those who spin the ball too much.

Not extensive time with the M4 but I have hit it in the Sim a bit and I do prefer the '16 M2. Feel is better and the M4 seems to be just as erratic maybe more, for a driver that claims to help in that area. Personally I like the white/carbon look better than the silver, too.

The 2017 M1 and M2 were huge hook machines for me. TM mentioned that they added draw bias to the heads in 17 vs the 16 heads and it was just a no-go for me.

Just one round so far with M4 ... all good except it’s the first driver head I’ve had that sits too open ... 16 M2 May be better at working the ball. M4 May be easier to hit straight.

I notice no descinerable difference between my 2016 and 2017 M2. I bought the 2016 for $180 bucks. Will probably pick up another one, either 2016 or 2017, as I refuse to buy into the twist-face hype and really like both versions of the M2.

I own the m2 tour from 2016 and recently hit the m4. I will agree that they definitely feel different when flushed. Maybe I’m in the minority but I really like the m4 irons. My m2 driver from 2016 well I have two of those and plan to keep them until they break.
