previously played the spin milled vokey 60 w/4deg bounce...had the opportunity to try a new z wedge 60 out and noticed one important thing, it wasn't shredding my golf balls...and i had better control of the spin in short shots around the greens...one problem i had w/the vokey 60 is guessing how much the ball would check on tight chip shots...imo, has a softer feel than the vokey...outside of those two factors, both are very comparable... i do wish there was a 4 deg bounce option bc i tend to not take enough sand on my bunker shots...but i haven't noticed a difference in that area between the two wedges either...i'll probably switch out the 54 degree too once i can afford my gas... ;) ...if you're tired of shredding golf balls, it's worth a shot...

Surprised this wedge isnt getting more pub. I played vokey for years and switched this season to the z wedge and to me its a notch above the others.

I have never liked the feel of any TM wedges, but they do look nice...

ive always been a taylormade wedge lover. earlier this year i switched from a 54 and 58 in the TP black to the new Z grooves in 52, 56, and 60. i couldnt be happier, they are easiest to control and the feel is unbelieveable. i wish there were more bounce and sole options though....

I havea 52 and 58 and they are the best wedges i have ever owned. I just put red paintfill on them and they look awsome

Been looking to get a new S/W for a long time now, have a Vokey spin milled in the bag at the moment but after trying this ordered one on the spot, better feel than the vokey and does everything I want a s/w to do. Easy to control distance and flight. Probably get a lob wedge as well once I have the cash.

Anybody know what material the Z TP heads are made from? On the TM site, the RAC Chrome and Y-cutters are listed as 304 stainless, but no listing for the Z. Just wonderin'.

I was playing the Vokey Spin Milled and thought I really liked it. I just bought a 52 and a 56 TP Z and I really do like them better than the Vokey. I did chew a ball up with them but I think they will calm down some after using them. I seem to have much better control with these wedges. The Vokey seemed to be best for a low checking shot and I can do it all with the TaylorMade TP Z.

Pretty good, but the feel is a little on the hard side.

Just replaced my TP black Y's (52, 56 & 60) with these for x-mas. Looking forward to de-virginizing them this weekend so I can post a review. I hit a few balls into the net at the local golf shop, that was enough to get my attention.

I gotta set of these bad boys for Christmas, 54 and 58. Better than the old vokeys, just like throwin darts at the hole.

My buddy has the Z in a 54º and 58º. I used the 54 at 80 yards just to check it out and I hit a great shot 10 feet passed the flag and the spin was so good it pulled the ball back like it was on a string and off the green. I used his 58º to chip to a foot and it hit 4 feet in front of the hole and it was a low shot that should of ran by 10 feet but it hit and checked! What a wedge! I now have a 54º and 58º on the way from the Tour Van. The only thing I will have to do is figure out how to play my shots with it and determine how much spin to it puts on the ball on average so I am not back spinning balls off the green. By the way the 80 yard shot was out of the rough also so with a perfect lie I would imagine these will be the best spinning wedges to date. I am now thinking of a 48º in place of my PW also after talking to a friend who is getting one. I will write a full review after I get them shafted tomorrow and play a round or 2 with them.

I was playing with CG12's (50*,58*), and wanted to change lofts. Went to the Z TP 54*,60* and I really like the feel better than the CG12's. I would guess they are still using 304 stainless, but that is just a guess.

Excellent wedge, got it in the 56/12. Very versatile because of the C grind, soft feel and plenty of spin.

have the 54.10 very good wedge provides a good amount of spin and doesnt shred soft cover balls. The smoke finished looks real good but i still get quite a lot of glare when i hit into the sun

how and where did you get the paint filled in your wedges? i have some tm z wedges also

Just bought the 56*and 52*. I haven't put them to the test, as 20 pitches in from about 30yards, the skies opened up and dumped 2" of rain.

South Fl. June afternoon weather can give you fits. Seems really comfortable. Will report on weekends findings.

update: I need more practice with these, more check than I am use to.

Great wedges. I last used Vokey Spin Milled and wanted to get new ones. I fooled around with the Nike VR and Cally X Tour C Grinds but settled for the TM.

Just played my first round with the 60* today. Incredible club. Now I need to get the 56*.

So why wasn't the 60* offered with the C-grind? Is it limited in its functionality as a result? Any comments from those who use the 60* Z relative to its strengths and weaknesses from a bounce and grind perspective?

I have the 60 and it seems pretty versatile to me. I've hit some pretty good flop shots with it. It also drops and stops very well. I really like it. I have hit it fat a few times but I would think that was because of the massive hangover I was sporting that day. I'm actually going to get a matching 56 soon.

Does anyone have any experience with how the finish will wear over time? Is it similar to the vokey oil can?

i have the 52*, 56*, and 60* and i LOVE them.

have had mine for 2 seasons and dont show much at all for finish wear.
