Staying at Dreams Punta Cana - recommendations?

Heading to PC next month and staying at Dreams with several families. The guys plan to play a round or two while there and looking for recommendations. Teeth of the Dog is about 1.5 hours away, so that is out. Keep reading about Corales and Punta Espada, which are about 50 minutes away. Not sure if there is anything worth playing closer? Also, with PGA stopping at Corales, any idea when the course will open back up to public and do you think it will be banged up? Thanks in advance!!

Punta Espada is the best course down there IMO. You will love it and it's well worth 50 minutes travel time each way. Corales is also very nice, but not as challenging and you have the Tour issue so I would avoid it. Both are very expensive.

La Cana is located very close to Corales and is a PB Dye track. It's a couple notches down from the other two, but should be considerably less expensive.

I guarantee that after one round at PE you'll want to go back.

100% agree that Punda Espada is the best course down there. La Cana is also a solid course plus a lot cheaper than the competitors in the area. Have a great time!

Just returned. Punta Espada is great, Corales IMHO is a slight bit less interesting, but still good. Hit the eco lagoon with the kids and swim with the dolphins.

I felt like Corales was overpriced for what it is. I would rather play Punta Espada a bunch.

I'm there for a week and not sure what the hell I'm going to do with my time. I'd love to play/practice everyday. Are there any courses in the immediate area of Now Larimar? Is it safe to travel far away from the resorts? For some reason I get the idea there are Sandanistas hiding out waiting to kidnap people for money.....
