She's a Myrtle Beach local, (from a very prominent family) so I always wanted to like her work. She sure knew how to suck up to Arnie... Her job was secure as long as he was around. LOL. Only thing more bland then her studio work though, was listening to her or Rich Lerner fawn over every player from the booth. She had a good run, nobody will remember her much after she's gone though.

She struck a wrong chord with me a few weeks ago when she absolutely butchered a relatively well known (on the Euro tour for sure) golfer’s name who was at the top of the leaderboard. That blew me away. It makes sense to me now... Maybe she’s been “checked out” for a bit while. Good luck in her future endeavors.

A bag of left-handed junk.

Don't mean to sound like a troll, but honestly I never gave tv analysts/announcers for any sport any thought either positively or negatively before joining WRX. Meanwhile everyone here rages about tv personalities, and I don't get it. What's wrong with me?

Simple answer.

You like sports, you’re a fan of the action.

Tv fans like TV, and announcers bother them.

Wow. No jokes or anything, just straight up vitriol. This is extremely harsh. You realize this is her life’s work, she’s a real person, and a decent chance she could read this, right?

You worked your butt off for 20+ years and it showed Kelly. Congratulations on what you accomplished.

I have to admit, I watch Golf channel nearly every day of my life and somehow I don’t know her.

Unusual step?

I wonder why GC allowed her to publish that going-away column.

There have been so many GC on-air "celebrities", even some long-serving ones, who just vanish over night. It is as though they never existed. GC goes thru "celebrities" more often than some GolfWRXers change drivers.

I wonder why Kelly T got to do this when most don't?

GC let her publish a going away column because she isn't a 'celebrity'. She has been there since the beginning and she deserves to go out with grace. She was part of the foundation of the Golf Channel.

I think she did her job well. Farewell!

I was going to post this topic when I first saw it, but decided not to figuring I would get a less than favorable response. Actually it has been more positive than I expected.

I always thought she was over the top when covering Tiger, using the term Hank Haney used on his show this week, a 'Tiger gusher'. Every time I'd see her on the Golf Channel broadcast I'd cringe. Especially seeing her with other 'Tiger gushers'. I get it, it was all about the ratings, and still is. Golf Channel certainly isn't 'fair and balanced' and doesn't have to be. They aren't reporting regular news. In saying that, I wish her well in her future endeavors, like said here, having spent any length of time with one organization, she probably has done and seen everything when it comes to golf, and now deserves to do what she wants to do.
