I'm not talking about your favorite course, but what course do yall play most often here in the Lone Star State???

Amarillo Country Club. It's a great track and usually in fantastic shape despite the lack of moisture up here. Our superintendent left late last year so hopefully our new guy can keep the course in shape if this drought extends through the summer.

Yes, I think it will be great to host the tourney. A bit bummed Cypress will be closed for six months starting next month but the greens are overdo for an upgrade anyways. Be interesting to see if it leads to more tourneys out there as I think it is a great setup.

I'm excited for you as well. Hoping Champions will host a PGA Championship now that they have moved it.

Yes. And yes, definitely has some weird par 5's with some high risk/reward shots. Not very forgiving either.

Guy I work with is a member at Champions and I got to play the Cypress course a couple of weeks ago, great fun, but the greens kicked my butt hard.

I usually play either Memorial or Herman Park.

I'm currently playing the South Mid-Am at the Club at Falcon Point (in Katy), and man do I hate this golf course. Leave your driver at home and pucker your butt cheeks on every tee shot—left is dead, right is dead, and even if you manage to avoid those two, you may still be in trouble.

I absolutely hate #5, stupid design. Just out of curiosity, have you ever seen anybody try to play down the #6 fairway and go for the green from there instead? Looking down from Google Earth view, it would seem like a better way to play the hole (if you want to go for the green). Hate #9 and #16 as well. Bad par 5 on that course.

Yes. A lot of groups typically do that on #5 in some of the scramble tournaments. # 9 is worse than #5 in my opinion. You have to have a perfect drive off the tee to even have a shot at the green and just like #5, you have a downhill lie a lot of times. I've learned to enjoy #16. Actually went over the green yesterday in 2. I get all giddy inside when I play somewhere else and there's no trouble on the par 5's.

Riverside in Victoria or Edna Country Club. I live between the two towns and play both pretty regular.

Either The Woodlands courses or Gleannloch Pines/Augusta Pines.

No love for muny?

No love for muny?

Muny has sub-par conditioning, boring greens (no internal contours, just big slopes), tons of rocks near and in the playing corridors, and lots of "safety trees" that choke lines of play.

It's not a particularly fun course to play, but it's still a gorgeous spot with the Westlake hills visible from most holes.

From a practice perspective, it makes no sense to play there because of how few times I can hit driver (and the range is irons-only).

Due to proximity, Tension Highlands in Dallas. Pretty good shape most weekends.

I pretty much split my time between Garden Valley and Pine Springs Golf Club.

When Tempest opens in August, that will be where most of my golf will be played.

Scottish golfer here so my home course here is Royal Aberdeen but spend 12 weeks a year in Houston right now so Cypresswood tradition is my favourite and so glad it is open again.
