PM Grind 2.0! Doesn't look drastically different so is likely the same PM grind with the new "groove-in-groove" technology from the MD4 wedges.

Also, the "weight" or whatever is in the adjustable hosel area of his driver is quite strange. I know we've had photos and discussed this before, but never seen anything quite like it.

Guess if you wanted to move the CG forward and toward the hosel that would do the job as well as anything.

Yea, several of us a few weeks ago were pondering what that could be near the adapter and came to the consensus it was for SW'ing...

I like that Phil plays a more forgiving 4i and isn't going butter knife 3-PW like a lot of pro's do. He's one of the greats but still appreciates a touch of help on the longer irons.

wedges seem to have tons of offset also. guess the UT and Hybrid battle it out to see who gets in bag for week?

That PM grind is so perfect.

Really interested in the 2.0 and any differences. Plus the finish looks more rusty than anything else I've seen. Hopefully it goes retail.

Compared to the last few PM-grind 60's Phil has had in his bag the 2.0 looks virtually identical in shape and grind. My guess is it's an updated version with the MD4 Grooves.

Well it’s good to see a lot of us were correct that he has been gaming some Apex MB short irons. Which wasn’t listed as his “Winning Bag” on Mexico.

Man that putter looks like someone left handed would play. Butt-hurting, come on Phil, it's just beyond cheesy.

I do think that he will do well in this tourney though.

I have always been amazed at how he can put with that much offset.

Even one shaft offset throws me off, much less whatever that is. 1.5? 2? more?

Yes that is true. I can’t remember the exact story but when we were at the ECPC one of the guys explained that Phil likes his grips built up a certain way to take a little of the taper out of them but not all of it. They use to just do the extra layers of tape method but Phil said they never came out exactly the same so they had Golf Pride make a boat load of molds specifically for him. It’s in a big drawer marked “Phil Only” and it’s filled with grips, single iron heads, hybrid heads, etc. each item in the drawer is weighed down to a fraction of a gram to make sure everything is how Phil expects it.

Per a Callaway insider on another site it is to help with his problem shot, not for SW purpose.. In the past they put hot melt in the heel but couldn’t get enough weight. Interestingly they didn’t specify whether it was a slice or hook that it was trying to correct..had a friend who put lead powder down a shaft to add more draw bias..
