Played 9 holes after work and the cover was chewed up pretty good after the first 3 holes (par 4, par 4, par 3). Should have probably took it out of play but I finished the round with it. Here’s a few pics for those interested.

Yeah they scuff pretty easily, but they are $10 a dozen so...

Probably the same exact ball as the previous model just "rebranded" as new

Didn’t notice them being short like some guys complain about the gamer tour. They were right on target distance wise if anything maybe a little longer than normal.

I agree. I think it is an exceptional ball at the price. I've been loading up on them.

Sounds about right. My experience is that this ball wears pretty quickly. Other than that, it performs on par with other urethane balls.

According to the 2018 Golf Digest "Hot List: Best New Golf Balls', the new ball has "A new core design adds distance to this urethane-cover model."<br />
    <br />
It doesn't say anything about the cover. So, I would think that even if the core is different, the cover is probably the same and would have the same durability as last year's "Gamer Tour" model.

The only knock I had against the Gamer Tour was the lack of distance with all clubs. Durability, spin and feel were all acceptable considering the great price. If it's true that the Gamer U is longer, then I'll definitely consider it.<br />

First day I played with the new urethane I had a 293 yard drive. Played with them again yesterday and hit one 312 yards. Distance seems to be fine to me normal drives for me are around 280.

How do they feel? Firm like a Prov?

They are firm. No where near as spiny as a pro v but compared to a 2 piece ball they check up a lot faster on the greens. You have to carry them a good bit closer to the hole or you will come up short.

I have played them exclusively for 2 years. Depending on time of year they can be had for 10 bucks a dozen. I use old oil can vokey wedges and they shred covers, but so would any other ball. They behave like any other tour ball for me, and I play goat tracks to top tier conditions.

I use these as my “cheap ball” for average rounds and as my cold weather ball since they’re softer than the other ball I play.

I don’t think they’re as durable as top of the line Titleist or other major manufacturers. But at under $1/ball I think it’s a fair trade off. Especially if you’re someone that loses a ball or two a round.

I’d say durability is acceptable. I’ve played multiple rounds with a ball before. I’ve also cut one with a wedge or on a tree on the first or second hole. So depends. But all in all I still think they’re a good value

Heads up they’re $10/dz today. Although it says they’re not available in store near me. I wonder if they’re discontinuing or coming out with a new model.

When was the last change from gamer tour to gamer urethane?

I saw that sale too, however I also saw that the Q Star Tours were $19. I'd much rather spend the extra $$ to pick those up - they last longer and have far better performance (for me).

Im a srixon fan. You can sometimes get the current gen z star and xv for $20/dz. When they’re on sale I stock up on those as well for my “nice ball”

Just a heads up, the gamer Urethanes are buy 2 (at $15/ea) get 3 free. That comes out to $6/dz.

This is the lowest I’ve seen these. I think that means that gg/dicks are either discontinuing or coming out with a new version next year.

Not sure if it was a glitch but I ordered 10 dozen for $60 shipped. That’s $6 a dozen!
