Traverse City memberships

I'm moving to Traverse city in a couple months and am looking for a regular place to play. I'll be living just south of the city and would ideally like something within 30-40 minutes. Hoping for something around or under $2000 a year with some good players, where i can find a regular matches etc. Could be private or public, but I'd like a place where I can buy a season pass/pay membership dues etc. Suggestions? Thanks!

^{I dont live in the area but have played almost everything around TC. You have plenty of options with some amazing courses.}

1. Best course in the area in my opinion is the Kingsley Club and its private.....the place is unreal but its going to be over $2000

2. Lochenheath is another awesome track and its private as well but again its going to be over $2000.

3. North of TC is a course called A-ga Ming and they have 3 different courses. The best is Sundance but I just checked online and they offer a membership with cart for $2200. If you want to walk its $1600. At those prices that place will be hard to beat although it might be around 4o minutes from where you live

4. Hawkseye is in Bellaire so depending where you live its prob a 45 minute drive but you can get a full membership for $1800.

All of these courses listed are some of the best courses in Northern Michigan so I am guessing there are cheaper options for courses that somebody can prob help you with.

TC isn't exactly a budget friendly town. I don't think you will find what you are looking for. The good courses are way above 2k and the others aren't private and get a ton of play.

^ What BMP said. Increase budget moderately and go Traverse City CC or Lochenheath or Grand Traverse Resort. Increase it a lot and go Kingsley Club. Public golf in and around TC is a real PIA in season.

Another option I'm not real familiar with is The Crown, maybe worth a check out. From distant memory, course isn't anything special but will get you away from the maddening crowds.

Interlochen and Mistwood west of TC might be fits. Longer drive than you were hoping for though.

Thanks for the responses! Traverse City CC looks kind of short? and it's around double what I want to pay for the year. I assume Lochenheath is the same cost? I can't find anything online about dues there. A-ga Ming is over an hour from where I'll be living.

Interlochen and Mistwood actually look like good options. Very close to where I'll be living actually. Are they far enough off the beaten path that they're not overrun with people during the summer season?

Interlochen can get real busy. On the plus side, the owner gets it and knows how to balance between daily fee and seasonal members. Mistwood will be slightly less busy. You gotta understand you are moving to a place EVERYONE wants to be from Memorial Day to Labor Day. A 15 minute cross town drive takes 45 in season.

Lochenheath might be a little less than TCCC, worth a call. The GM at Loch is a good guy.
