2nd hold on the Homestead nine at Westview north of Toronto. 235 but this was back in the early 80's and that was between my driver and 3 wood at the time and the green was elevated and sloped from left to right just about the entire width of the green. By far the toughest hole I've every played. I think I parred it once in maybe 30 - 40 rounds.

#17 I think at Kiawah Ocean Course. 230 ish dead into the wind. My 3 wood barely carries that far but tried it anyway. Came up 30 yards short into the water.

Interestingly, I played it a few years later and the wind was helping. Hit a 4 iron and flew the green by 20 yards.

From the PGA tees, I think that hole played almost 250. Beast of a hole.

Probably the 16th at Carnoustie into a gentle breeze. I can't imagine playing that hole in the Open in a proper gale!

Steele Canyon (South San Diego) - 265 from the tips (I forget which of the 9s). left is dead, long is dead, right is alive but nearly dead. Short is your only safe spot.

    I hate that hole.

Recently got to play #9 from the Championship tees at Turnberry. Not sure if it was the longest par 3 I've ever played, but it sure was long and pretty darned intimidating! Almost no wind on that day I played, can't imagine how difficult it would be under more normal weather conditions. image/blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

253yd 3rd at Myopia Hunt Club in Hamilton Ma. Not only long but also directly adjacent to the hunts kennel. The hounds bark non-stop and it sounds like they're right on top of you during your tee-shot.

Dye Course French Lick, Ind. 300 yards, flat, water down the entire right side.

I played the hole back there only because "Why not" but that was the set of tees that stretch to 8,000 yards.

The Gauntlet #15, in Fredericksburg, VA. 244 from the back tees, though only 215 from the ones I play. The hole is level, and long is dead. At least there’s room to miss short, left and right since most have to play a wood.

The hole is pretty evil. For most weekend players, playing the correct tee puts you too close for a full 3 wood, but too far to reach with anything less than a perfect hybrid or 5w.

#11 at one of the courses at Talking Stick near Phoenix. 261 through a desert. Did not feel confident having to pull 3 wood on a par 3 with very little room to miss. Seems like Crenshaw and Coore like to throw in a hole like that on a lot of their courses.

Cross Creek Plantation #8 249 water covers entire left side of green

You play the Southern Wesleyan College invite there by any chance? I hated that course for some reason. Hit a 3 wood to 2 feet there once for a solid two putt par.

There's definitely something more important that I should be doing.

Mauna Kea #3, 272 at sea level with no elevation change and about a 250yd carry to carry the ocean and volcanic rocks that line the entire left side of the hole. I bailed out right with driver and put it pin-high in a bunker and somehow managed for get up/down for one of the more impressive pars I've ever made in my life (note my sand save % is roughly 5% ha)

One that stands out for me is Meyrick Park in Bournemouth. Public course that has two par 3's over 240 as the first and fourth holes, neither is exactly generous..

    What’s the longest par 3 you’ve played?

230 and the tee shot was blind and up hill. It was up over a hill and back down but the green was at about 20 feet above the tee in overall elevation.

Actually that wasn't the longest, I remember one about 255 or so but, it was more flat to downhill.

Will be very interesting to follow , I saw a video on youtube, with the back back champions tee, wind in the face, even long hitters hitting driver/ 3 woods...

Great that you will be there on sunday! have a great time and enjoy the moment ! ( I played there last year in august)

I play frequently Malvern Valley in the suburbia of Melbourne, Australia. It's not a bad little course, well maintained and the crew does a great job in looking after it but it has a lot of shortish fairly straightforward holes and on weekdays it's played by a lot of the local retired folks. Most holes are not that long and quite playable even for those that don't hit the ball too long. But then you are slapped with a 225m (that's 245 yards) par3 hole #10 (par4 for the women). Nothing interesting in it, just long and straight. Kind of a mystery what's the logic behind it.

Local course around here has a par 3 that playes 230 from whites and 260from the tips. It's also slightly up hill. I've made par maybe twice in 25 years from the tips
