Just purchases Montes - Drive for Dough - have many others on here used it???

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Im an 18 handicapper from ireland , The last few weeks my driver and three wood has been killing me which led to me trying Montes Drive for Dough video series.

I purchased it last night and so far what I have seen Im very impressed by it

Im just wondering have many others here bought it and what improvements to there game have they seen

i had a lot of lessons over xmas , my iron , play , wedges , chipping and putting is of a much lower handicapper but my driving has been very poor lately

Im hoping with the aid of montes video it will help my driving and three wood play

Regards

irish golfer

I found it very informative from a high level. But to be 100% honest, it was hard to say that my driver swing got much better. Over the last 2 years, I have done a lot of trial and error to see what I was doing wrong, and what needed adjustment in my swing. I think some of the fundamentals from Monte's video definitely helped guide my thinking process though.

Definitely worth it, including his short game series and wedge series. Good reference to have when things do awry, improved my overall understanding of what a golf swing is and WHY things occur. I've learned to stop trying to manufacture certain things like shaft lean, not early extending etc... and figuring out what I'm doing earlier in the swing that forces these things to happen.

I think the title is misleading. 95% or more applies to any full swing, not just the driver or woods and can be used to help you across the whole set.

And in my opinion (and limited experience), it's actually much more effective to approach this not as just a set of driver/fairway lessons - but as general full swing lessons. Take the concepts and start improving your wedges and short iron swing first. Those of us who struggle with the long clubs generally have the exact same faults in the short clubs - we are just much better able to compensate for those faults with the shorter clubs so they don't seem as bad. But it's much easier (at least for me) to address those faults first with the short irons then it is the longer clubs. As the 'fixes' become more ingrained in the shorter clubs, they will also start to show up in the longer clubs. If I try and start with the longer clubs, the 'old' swing still in use for the shorter clubs makes it very easy to revert back to the old (bad) habits in the longer clubs.

I just need to sort out my driving and three woods from the tee , there are definetly plenty of nuggets in what iv seen so far.

the price of the programme is a bargain also

It's great. Almost guaranteed that there's one clip in the D4D series that will vibe with you and lead to an immediate improvement. Monte cleared up some of my big misconceptions about how to swing faster in the How to Swing Hard section.

I fully agree my friend , i have watched half of it now and there are a few things I have seen that I will work on for sure at the range later today or tomorrow

Yes i agree it is a full swing overlook from what i have seen

For some reason with my short clubs im very accurate , I took a trackman short game test and was given a handicap of 1

It is my driving and three wood that has been killing me off the tee , when i connect i hit a long ball but iv been pull hooking too much

I hope to implement Montes tips this week on the range

+1 on worth it. I would (and do) subscribe to his Rebellion Golf site/app. The graphics and concepts are what will get you in the right place mentally. Then you have to put in the work knowing what feel/drill/technique helps produce the best for you.

Wedges videos are worth just as much if not more to your scoring as the D4D.

I purchased late last year and while my scores haven't improved (limited golf season/limited practice) I feel like I've had 3 major improvements:

  1. I've increased my understanding of the golf swing dramatically. Mainly by eliminating misconceptions I've held on to (low/slow, x-factor, etc.)
  2. By eliminating the misconceptions I'm able to more accurately diagnosis the potential swing flaws that lead to an undesired ball flight
  3. By improving my ability to diagnose I've been able to pick out a drill or two from the videos to practice, which has led to improved contact with all of my longer clubs.

I still reference it when things get off. The problem is actually remembering to reference it instead of forgetting and struggling for a few first. Agree with above that while in D4D you are looking for a few min worth of items...the UTB video has way more direct applications. Just from the "specialty" shots alone I save 1 or 2 shots per round.

On the fence. I am a fan of Monte’s. I especially like the No Turn Cast Drill. In to read reviews and be convinced to purchase.
