Consistency by Handicap?

Have there been any studies done or does anyone know off hand what the rule of thumb is?

Just curious what the factors are, etc.

So if you are at the Range or on the course a 10 handicap shouldn't kick themselves. If they hit 5 nice shots and the 6th goes into the woods. Or makes 2 putts then the rest miss.

And finally hits GIR 4 times but not any more.

Perhaps players working on certain things should accept they will be streaky?

I play a bit above a 10, but my last 4 rounds have come in at or below my hc. I guarentee you my swing isn't any better, but what I have done is accepted that a shot doesn't have to be perfect. Instead of being let down because I didn't make a gir, I now look forward to see how close I can get my chip or pitch to the hole. Basically my expectations right now are to get within 25yds of the green. If I can get within 25yds of the green I can give myself a reasonable chance for an up and down.
