I am a glove Ho

SUITSSUITS Members Posts: 927 ✭✭
Hello, My name is Stephen and I am a glove ho. I cannot pass up a closeout glove deal. My stockpile of gloves continues to grow. It is my hope that through this support forum I can curb my addiction and purchase normal quantities of gloves. My golf storage rack is starting to look like a retail rack for gloves and balls. I am also a recovering burlington coat factory nike golf shoe addict.

Thank you for your support.

Between Costco’s Callaway 4 glove Cabrera pack for $ 24.99 and MG’s dynagrip elite premium cabretta for $6.95, there really is no reason to look anywhere else for people that like premium cabretta leather gloves. I won’t consider synthetics or hybrids.

I haven’t even looked at another glove since I found the MG’s 3 years ago. Sizing is consistent. Leather is top notch. I buy 5 at a time. They are thin, which I love, but they may not be for everyone if you are very hard on gloves.

I Haven’t tried the Callaway but reviews here on this site are very good.

I haven't heard of that one before. I only have two gloves...one for practice and one for play. When the one I use for play gets worn out, I toss the practice glove, replace it with this one, and purchase a new glove for play. I also clean them on a regular basis so they last a long time.

No way I could go with one glove with the way my hands sweat & playing in the Deep South. I rotate one every three holes.

Yeah it's 104 today in Dallas and I'm going this afternoon. My glove is so dry and crusty from sweating from the last round.

It will be a very frigid day in **** before I buy a $35 golf glove that is sold at Saks Fifth Avenue.

And no matter how good the glove is, I wear out a minimum of two a month even rotating between three of them per round to increase longevity. I use at least 15 gloves a season.

I hear you guys on gloves and shoes. I'm bad at buying both and like hosel rocket said, living in the south, you go through gloves in the summer like gang busters...Last I counted I have 34 new gloves in the stock pile. If I find them for less than $10 a pop, I buy them, simple. ****, we are always gonna need gloves, right?! LOL

I put best grips microperfs on my irons and have played my last few rounds without a glove. They literally stuck to your hand when you wipe them with a wet towel. So far I like it much better than wrestling with a wet glove ( they get hard to put on even when you rotate every few holes).

As far as best grips go, I have one grip that doesn’t get as sticky as the rest, two emails later, Zach, the president of the company is taking care of it. Great CS.

Never heard of GFORE. Do they offer up anything over say the Titleist Players glove?
  • groachgroach Members Posts: 199 ✭✭
I like to spend money as much as the next guy, but GFore, c'mon. $35 for a glove? $125 for a polo shirt? No way. Two years ago Mossimo was the house brand for Target selling shorts for $12. Can't do it. Not at full retail at least.

G/FORE and the Mossimo brand share only one thing in common; the founder. The quality of the GFORE stuff is incredible, some of the nicer stuff I've had in terms of golf shoes, gloves, and hats. Haven't tried a polo out yet, but if you can find their stuff on sale it's well worth the money, IMO.

Buy 6 Bionic Relax Grip gloves, rotate every three holes. That's all you'll need for the summer, even in the South. You'll spend a little money up front, save a lot of money in the long run because they'll last at least two summers, maybe more.

For practice, I wear a FJ Tropicool, which basically lasts forever as it can be washed and air dried. For actual rounds, I wear a premium cabretta glove like TM tour preferred. It's a good balance as I am not constantly cycling through gloves.

MG is the way to go. Cant beat it really. I rotate 3 gloves, and toss the most beat up one for practice sessions.

LOL @ whoever said they use one glove for an entire season.

My GFore gloves last much, much longer than the FJ?Titleist, etc. gloves so I actually save money by spending the extra $10-$15 with G4.

Spoken from the famous sweat hog that has to change gloves every 3 holes, I doubt style is your strong point.

Im in OKC and walked 18 friday. I purchased 30 range balls - 1 glove so wet i could ring it out. I played the first 2 holes - glove so damp club kept turning on me. Both brand new i had to use 2 old gloves in my bag while I attached the 2 new ones to try and dry them out with the sun. By the 12th hole I was so pissed off i contemplated regripping all my clubs that are brand new mp5s image/taunt.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':taunt:' />

Haha, Im a bit of a golf glove ho myself...ive got about 80 new pairs of Gfore/ FJ Pure / Nike Tour II and probably 300 old gloves laying around......And for shoes, I understand the Burlington Golf effect, I don't find them at stores but they can be found on ebay for 79-99 a pair, I usually pick up a pair of Nikes in every color once the season ends.....im currently waiting on the LCV2 to be dumped.

Okay, pull the gloves up broski... I’m about 6’ & 178 lbs. Not exactly out of shape body type. I’m not the only one in this thread who has sweaty hands. I’m also pretty sharp on the tee if I don’t say so myself...even though I forgot my hat. image/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
