Long time lurker, and first time poster here.

Figured the best first post I can make is my current set up, and possible changes I can see myself making.

9/5/18 update

• Finally bit the bullet and got a X5 in with a 'JT' weld neck done by Tom Slighter.
  
• Project X 6.5 iron shafts are coming in to replace the LZ's. Hopefully this will lower the flight/spin a touch.
  
• Kuro Kage Dual Core 60TX replaced the Veylix Rome 688 in the driver
  
• Tensei Pro White 80TX replaced the AD TP 7X in the 3 wood
  
• Tensei Pro White 90TX replaced the HZRDUS Black 85 in the p790 UDI

It took me awhile to get used to it since I’ve never had a wedge that had a wide sole before. It’s my go to club around the greens, and it’s very versatile even with its low bounce.

Chipping/pitching with it is great, and I love how it doesn’t want to dig at all. It did like to pop up out of bunkers for me, but I found it works best when you’re aggressive through bunkers shots.

I am slowly being drawn to the Titleist CB MB combo and would like to know what your honest opinion is with them so far?

If you wouldn't mind sharing, let us know what you tested them against and what made you decide to go with those instead of the others you tested

I love them. Easily the best irons I have ever played.

I got fitted for them at Club Champion, and tested them up again the z765s, p750/p730s, X-forged/MB, and Honma Tour Worlds. Consistency eventually made the 718's the winner. Numbers averaged out to 6,300 rpm with a 6 iron (avg. 98.5 mph clubhead speed), but the dispersion and consistency was fantastic. My next favorite set would have been the X-forged/MB, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the X-Forged in the longer irons. The 718 heads (especially the CB/MB) look very similar to me at address, so the transition from the CBs to the MBs was smooth. The 718s checked all the boxes for me on the looks/feels/performance category, and the LZ shafts paired with these heads also felt/performed the best to me.

The only problem I have had recently is the LZ shaft does tend to balloon on me playing into the wind. I'm contemplating pulling the shafts and hard stepping them to bring the flight/spin down a touch. I'm originally from Southern California, so wind was typically not a huge factor for me. I just moved up to Nor Cal for work, and the wind is most definitely a factor now.
