Help with a substitute driver shaft X-stiff

Hi,

I currently have a Ping G driver with the standard 65 Stiff shaft. I know I should be using an X-stiff shaft, and I'm interested in buying a replacement shaft, that's not too expensive.

Last time I checked I'm about 98mph with a 7 iron, and 120ish mph with the driver. So is 6.5 enough, or is 7.0 more accurate?

As an example I found:

Project X LZ 70 with both 6.5 or 7.0.

Project X Black 60gram 6.5.

And Aldila Tour Green ATX 65 Tour X-stiff.

If anyone could give me some tips for shaft, it would be nice.

Thanks in advance!

You can find a ping tour 65 or 75 x flex on Ebay. The yh are pretty solid. And fairly cheap. I think I paid 65 for mine. Came with adapter installed already

If you want a lower flight, PX HZRDUS Black 6.5 flex. Ebay that shaft with PING and you can find one for 120ish..

I think you're more in the 7 range but can play 6.5 as well. Should probably decide on whether you want to sacrifice dispersion for distance. It's tough to really get a good grasp on different shafts despite hours of research without trying it out. The Project X shaft may play more boardy than you like or you may love it. This is how I became a club and shaft ho image/nyam.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':nyam:' />

Also another good point is that different manufacturers have different actual "flex" ratings. Fujikura Tour Spec shafts in stiff or extra stiff may play more stiff than a standard stiff or extra stiff. Small details, but I feel they matter.

Could try and track down one of the PX HZRDUS Yellows that Ping uses as an optional shaft in 6.5 flex.
