    So much cool Richard.

Really makes me wonder, if I had access to almost anything golf related what would I choose?

    I agree.

I own a bout a dozen putters that I could put into play. I use 1 and my putting gets hot for a couple weeks, and then 1-2 rounds of sketchy putting and I think "**** maybe I should try my ____ putter to possibly help with the ____ miss". This turns into a horrible cycle of "what if's" for me.

I can't imagine having this problem with basically every club in my bag. I'd go F'ing crazy. It'd be a constant rotating door for every club.

I suppose it'd be a blessing and a curse lol.

That used to be a problem when I was Ho'in a lot. I do not rotate that much any more. Driver is constant once I find the one I have confidence in. Fairways the same... I think a good 3 wood is hard to find. Once found I stick with it.

But a few years back... wow.

I do have a set of National custom works irons coming as well as testing the Ping i500's. But they will have a challenge to get in the bag.

    Richard,

Have you ever carried a club(s) and/or shafts to satisfy a sponsor on the site?

Wondering if there has ever been a moment where the 'business of golf' has ever impacted your equipment selections?

Or do you not give a hoot and simply play what's best for your game?

I never care about it. I have showed up for years to events with other OEM clubs in the bag. The don't expect it either. I get some crap at times but doesn't last for long.

That being said I have seen some shady crap and choose not to play or wear that company's stuff.

Well... After a few rounds with the new Ping i500's I hit them higher and straighter. I would say longer as well but not as important for an iron. They are really good. Scoring very good with them.

Also went into a LST version of the Ping driver and changed the Tensei to the counter balanced Orange and smoke it with less spin.

Wet outside so went to the older Ping L8 bag for the day.

    Great looking bag!

I have a set of PXG 0311T on order through the hero program, but the ho in me really wants to try those i500 irons. Some of the best looking irons to hit the market in quite a while, IMO.

Ahh... get them both! I did. LOL.

I love the PXG irons. Getting sick of the rivets in the back and there is a little "look at me" with the PXG that is a love/hate thing. That being said I have more rounds in the last 2 years with PXG than any other OEM. The Pings fly higher and stemlike they could be longer. Yum.

Changes as usual. Took the PXG out of the bag. Getting to be to much sole width. Getting some turf interference at the ball. Rivets are so PXG and wears on me. Soft and mushy as well. Went to a traditional head. Scored really well in some matches doing it.

    DI Iron: 24* Callaway X-Forged UT 18' w/ Graphite Design Di-85 Shaft.

Irons: 5-pw Callaway X-Forged 18' Steel Fiber i95s. (the PXG were to big and mushy. Rivets were to "look at me" as well.)

Few things that I didn't love. They ended up feeling so so. Not as solid as I wanted. Also they were so freakin long and high but the distance control showed in play over time.

I bailed. I might try them again but I walked from them.

I updated the pics and WITB in the first post. Changes are going from the PXG P to the less forgiving thinner soled one piece forging Callaway X Forged 18'. I added also pulled the 4 iron and replaced it for the Cally UT with a GD DI-95 as well. Love that.

The thinner soles give me better contact. Less "noise" at impact. Noise meaning interaction with the turf. I am not a sweeper but I still seem to get along with a thinner sole over time. That is why I seem to always go back to the player cb type head.

Another thing I experience is with PXG, 790's, or Ping i500's the distance control just isn't there like it is with a predicable player cb or blade. The speed/GI hollow heads go high and long... but the sole widths and low spin translates to some lose shots and wacky distance control. The score card doesn't like those inconsistencies. I score better in these. JMHGO.

Nice to read your feedback about the PXG, P790, and i500 irons. I might play a G700 but only in the 4 & 5 irons.
