Is Koepka the new Angel Cabrera?

He only plays well in majors and doesn't play all that well in the other events

I am surprised Koepka hasn't won more but its clear he knows how to get the job done so I expect the wins to total up in the future.

I watched him a lot on the ET and he impressed me big time but I'm a little surprised at how quickly he's ascended to the top of the game.

Koepka is better, it appears like he doesn't care as much in regular events and only gets focused at the majors

He's a lot more consistent than Cabrera, who had blow-up rounds (high 70's-80) quite commonly. You don't see that from Koepka, and I think with his talent level, it's just a matter of time before he starts racking up regular tour wins as well.

Interviews don’t win tournaments, who cares how he interviews? The man is a golfing machine.

He is a rockstar with golf fans in Argentina. Their aren't that many and soccer is king there.

IMO BK will be a rockstar in the coming years around the globe.

I didn't say that they did. His game is beyond impressive. I've seen him in person and he is elite among the elite so far as golfing talent. That being said he is awfully boring. And plenty of people care about interviews. That's why he doesn't get requests for them as often as others of similar stature. People are drawn to personalities. Rooting interest greatly increases drama and viewing experiences. This is not a new revelation. getting back to the topic at hand, Cabrera shows more personality via a foreign language that i don't speak, than Koepka does sleepwalking through winning majors. While i find it kind of fascinating, it is not very entertaining. Just my opinion.

Well, if you are going after majors only, your place in history, why not play well, it increases your chances of winning majors.

He seems to just do his job. Doesn’t over promote on social media. He shows up in more commercials / sponsorships now and he should as a 2x US Open champion. He is also younger than AC and us a long future ahead of him if he wants it.

But why would he need nose beers when he could drink as much free Michalob Ultra as he wants?

Cabrera was a good European Tour player and came into majors quite late in his career.

Koepka could have 3 majors in his 20s, lots of high finishes without wins as well. Has great potential.

Koepkas #4 in the world so he's done pretty well outside his US Open wins. If he were to finish this off today him having 3 majors/1 tour win would just be a statistical oddity that will even out as his career goes on.

    And maybe also John Daly.

Could well happen. The right weeks just happen to be majors in the past few years. Koepka could kick on after this win and win 10 PGA Tour tournaments in his next five years, with no majors and he'd have a pretty nice career for himself there.

He's going to be far better than Cabrera when it's all said and done. But nice try.
