Dynamic Gold S300 vs Nippon 125's

Been Playing DG almost all my life and thinking about switching to the Nippon Modus 120 or 125's. Hit them both inside and numbers are comparable. Anyone with on course experience who made the switch from Dynamic Gold S300 to the Nippon Modus 120 or 125's? I prefer a little heaver shaft in my irons and the 120's would be as low as I would go.

The 120 is a very different profile then thr 125 is. The 125 is almost identical to DG. The 125 has a slightly stiffer tip then DG. But its pretty frigging close.

With that said ive gamed s300 x100 and now modus 125x

Have both in Titleist CB’s. Apex is higher and more spin with the Tour 125. Even though the weights are similar, Dynamic Gold feel heavier. The 125’s have a touch of kick to them making them feel livelier and maybe a little soft to flex although still a solid feel. Dynamic Gold have that distinctive thud at impact.

Interesting to hear you think the 125 play soft to flex - I've hit all 3 (120,125,130) and the 125 are for sure true to flex for me - just goes to show how we all feel different things!

The one thing I love about the 125's is they just cut through everything - anywhere up to half a club of wind I just play the yardage and they perform.

X100 is the only DG I played and actually found them to spin quite a but more and their flight was much more of a climb as opposed to the 125's which are more flat.

    Just my 2c
