shaft heavy

lately I have changed my iron set, for some reason I felt shaft heavy, can't feel swing head to strike the ball, is it the swing weight/ shaft weight matching issue? thanks

Very possibly. What was the shaft model, shaft, weight and swing weight on the current set and what was it on the previous set?

That's not that big of a change - but you never know some people are just more sensitive then others. It's easy to add a little lead tape to the head and increase the swing weight back up to where it was and see if that helps.

What else changed? Is the grip (and grip size) the same? What heads? Any change in playing length?

Change of flex ? The stiffer flex usually is a bit heavier and this sounds like suspect for the condition of going one flex stiffer.

It couldn't hurt to double check - the distinction in feel between weight and stiffness can get pretty fuzzy for some.

it probably is the reason, my shaft flex going one step stiffer, the same NS pro 950 but stiffer, the 950 is not heavy shaft, I wonder if use 120g what swing weight they should match with......

so in my case just increase the swing weight should be fine right? thanks all

Or give it a little more time for you to adjust to the new shaft.

Who knew, the new yet unfamiliar set up might suit you better.

When you say "one step stiffer" do you mean same flex but hard stepped? or do you mean one flex stiffer?

When it comes to how the swing weight should change when shaft weight changes - there is no rule that will help. It just will take some trial-and-error testing with some lead tape to find the best swing weight.

I think I have found a reason that why I felt shaft heavy and I can't feel the head when strike the ball, the iron manufacture recommended D0 swing weight , and 5 iron weight about 364g, but I didn't go with the iron graphite shaft which is tour ad 55 as they recommended, I end up 5 iron weight around 407g.

is it the main reason? what should I change then? the shaft or add more swing weight to it? please advise
