Rum, bayside and baywood for me in the OC/DE area.
lodestone was so wet when we played....it was worse than Pinehurst Trip 2019.
lighthouse, played one time....will never return.
lake pres is a great layout, haven’t played it in years though.
DC, a couple of architects from Baltimore traveling to a construction site in MOCO were stopped this morning.
They may have been pulled over for something else. The MD State Police were on the news not even an hour ago specifically saying you would not be pulled over just for being out on the roads.
Was on the roads most of today, down in Bethesda, silver spring areas, same amount of cars out to yesterday. Nothing has changed.
I've been outside in Bethesda pretty consistently over the last two weeks. Today traffic was real light. Maybe a little lighter than yesterday, but I wouldn't bet on it.
I don't think the changes yesterday really do much in terms of overall people movement. Everything was already closed. It just gives a little extra power to crack down on the biggest dingii out there who are still doing things like holding house parties.
Working from home means I can try to keep ChicFila in business for breakfast deliveries...
In a related story, I finally got below 190 lbs last night. OK it was 189.8 and I'm sure that goes back up but whatbleepingever. First time in....no idea how long, that I've been below 190. I weighed in at 201.8 the day after XMas.
Tourist Sauce Tobacco Road was good.
The opening 10 minutes or so had a ton of footage of building the course.
The match they had was crazy. DJ, getting like 8 strokes from Soly was -1 through 10 holes. That course can do that. If you're capable of hitting the ball at all, you can definitely score there.
I enjoyed the episode much more when the match was over. I did notice DJ "putted the ball off the green" once the match was over, good way to keep that cap up.
Really enjoyed the shots of Strantz walking the course with his little paint marker.
If you're capable of hitting the ball at all, you can definitely score there.
In light of making light of Sully twice now with funny videos, here is one that was shot of me on the Old Course.
For the record, the ball bounced off a building, into the fairway and I made par.
Was that a late club twirl on a shot that required a "fore"??
I have a good video on IG of DC hitting one 70 degrees left when trying to go for it on #11 at TR.
I definitely have to watch the Tourist Sauce. I've beaten this to the ground, but TR is one of my favorite courses to watch other people play.
I actually went back into the Google Album and there are two videos on me hitting the same tee shot. One thing I miss about Puppet, he always took a million pics/vids whenever you played.
I dont know how much a bad drive on that hole adds to your tee shot but it has to be at least 100 yards. The real irony is that after "playing it safe" and not taking on the bunkers I dumped it in the bunker going for it in 2 anyway.
I enjoyed the episode.
It was neat to see footage of the site from when the course was constructed. I love how some of the features on the course are just giant pits that were already created for them, by the previous user of the land.
Watching soly get waxed by good guy DJ, while complaining about strokes the entire time, was immensely enjoyable. Soly stinks, as an on camera personality. I think the fact that it's him adds to my disinterest of watching the series about playing a US open qual.
Big Randy just does not compete. He's extra awful when it matters, and it looks like it pains him to even be playing for something.
The poker game they played was a bit hard to follow, for a non poker player like myself, but it seemed fun. With the right group, I'd try it out sometime for sure. Maybe in June, when winter 2.0 is over.
We've been doing lots of family bike rides, which has been a blast. It's a great time to be a workout at home person as well. I've already got all the equipment I need, so I've been able to continue working to get in shape.
Spending on everything other than groceries is way down. I think there have definitely been some positive behavior things to come from all this. Contentment with what you have, and to not always be running all over. Being conscious of usage and not wasting. Obviously, drilling in basic hygiene practices that can help stop catching stuff. Shoot, I've seen known non hand washers in the bathroom at work washing their hands since this started. I'm sure a lot of the behaviors will fade when life gets back to more normal again, but hopefully there's some positive permanent change.
I will say that some of the missed three footers were so bad during the series that I finally just realized it might be part of the act. They weren't 'made a good stroke just missed the line' misses either. They were absolutely terrible, horrific looking strokes. Neil missed the hole multiple times on putts that honest to God looked under two feet.
This crisis has highlighted the sheer wastefulness of some aspects of business travel and flights. Traveling all day for a 1 hour meeting when it can be accomplished with a zoom meeting will hopefully be reduced.
Played the original Ksig ball after a long time. What a great ball!!
Very much enjoyed the finale of tourist sauce. Brought back a lot memories from playing with DC, Puppet and Sull. I think the sign of a good course is being able to remember/recognize the holes. I could recognize almost every shot at TR, most at #4 at few at #2. Hottake: #2 may be the most overrated course I have ever played. Or at least the top 100 course I have played that I liked the least.
It’s the history of the course.
Give me TR everyday!
Done with #2 also. Would rather play #4 twice. Mid Pines and Pine Needles are better Everyman representation of the Donald Ross aesthetic.
I've liked the Sim 4 iron so much that I bought the 5 iron with the Steelfiber to match the rest of my set. Take it for a spin tomorrow, will take the 62* out to accommodate and see how it goes.
Sold off the TP5xs and an old putter, also listed the Epic 3i and M3 5h for sale. My wife is usually fine if I can sell two or three clubs for every new one that comes in the house.
Kent is rubbing off on all of you. Be careful. First you hate on #2, and next thing you know you are going to be smoking 3 packs a day and firing at the 150 marker.
Sully, I respect the genetic constitution of anybody older that can smoke 3 packs, drink a bit, score in the 70s and hit the 150 flag.
Can't say it any better than Sull #2 is overrated and should not be in the top 100. You guys are catching on. How go aim for the 150,s.
All of these wrong opinions about PH#2 SMH
Wow must be good if your are selling the epic 3 iron
This is the correct hot take on everyone else's incorrect hot takes.
I don’t have negatives about #2. It’s a wonderful course. The price to play such course is something I can pass on.
I enjoy the **** out of Dormie- others disagree with this
In a related story all this talk is really making me want to drive to Pinehurst tomorrow.
