Gapr 2 vs udi 1?

I’m torn between the two. I’ve hit the 1 iron and sold it like an idiot. I’ve yet to hit the gapr though I have heard it’s a beast. I currently game a Nike vapor fly pro 2 iron and love it. Which of these two would you all go with?

Can see the GAPR falling out of a lot of bags in no time, its no surprise Woods got rid after 1 event and went back to the udi. Game whatever fits your eye best. I had a 716 tmb and wanted to love it but couldn't, such a hard face, bought a Z565 3 iron and it's lightyears ahead as a driving iron. Go with what you like best, give them a try

I was not impressed with the looks or feel of GAPR when I hit it. I have a P790 UDI now.

I got to try out the GAPR low last weekend. Similar in size to the original UDI, but I didn't care for the looks or feel either.

GAPR mid looked so weird, I didnt bother swinging it.

Sticking with the 790 UDI/Tensei White combo. The UDI 1 iron would be really fun to hit, but I don't see the purpose of it since the 2 iron is already long enough.

The GAPR Low felt horrible to me. It was not forgiving at all and I could not control the flight like I can with my U65. Maybe it was the shaft/club combo, but it actually felt way worse to me than any driving iron I have hit.

As someone else said, the GAPR Mid just looks a little weird. Not quite a driving iron, but not quite a hybrid either. Maybe it is a better attempt at a "crossover" than Ping's? It was a lot more forgiving and was pretty long. It felt better to me than the GAPR Low, but that is not saying much. I could actually see the GAPR Mid being a great "chip and run" club. I think it has some versatility. But once again I can not see it kicking my U65 out of the bag.

Stick to the original UDI or P790 UDI... IMO

I am also not a big fan of the feel on the GAPR. The mid felt the best because it was pretty easy to launch. The hi is basically a hybrid and I would rather get a hybrid without the detailing on the crown. The low was a little hard to launch. I think the speed foam kills all feel and feedback. Feels too muted and there's no feedback to know how the ball was struck. I'm not a big long iron guy so my opinion carries little weight. Also maybe the course performance would be different. I've only hit them on simulator.

Between the udi (p790 or rsi) and gapr. I think both UDI are better because the player that wants a slimmer profile wants exactly that. The low gapr has a little more meat than the udi. Also adjustability? Is it really necessary on such an iron?

TW was testing the GAPR again today.

I ended up going with a p790 2. Pulled the px shaft out and threw in an x7. I’m hitting bullets with it.

I think the GAPR mid actually appeals to me (other than the finish & teal). I don’t have a super high ss, am lefty, prefer an iron like club. I need a little bigger/more forgiving club than the original udi, tmb, etc and like the idea of adjustability. I guess we’ll see how it goes.
