Worst Driver in the last 5 years.

Time and time again we see topics asking what’s the longest, straightest driver money can buy. I though it would be interesting to see what we thought was the worst driver produced in the last 5 years. I know this is highly subjective and I’m interested to see some of the answers. In no way is this intended to belittle a company. We all know that the major oems make great product but sometimes a product just doesn’t live up to expectations.

Rules:

1. Must have been released within the last 5 years

2. Must be from a major manufacturer

3. Must have owned the driver or at least tested it more than once

4. Try to be civilized

My vote probably goes to the PING G driver. I know that this probably won’t be a popular answer but I just could not get this head to work. I really liked the G30 and the G400 is another incredible head but I flat out couldn’t get the G LST to work. I hit high skinny cuts all day no matter what the setting or shaft.

Honorable mention:

Cobra F6+. Another brand that makes killer drivers but every time I tried this head it just under performed.

Also the F6+ came stock with a Matrix Black Tie which is my second favorite shaft of all time, and the one I currently have in my G!!!!

I think the winning Driver on the "Driver vs Driver" show was a bit of a dud, wasn't it?

I could only add a contestant if I'd had the shaft that fit me in every head. Without a constant shaft, comparing heads just comes down to sound/feel for me. That being said, I did not like the sound/feel of the M2, but I'd be hard pressed to call it "worst".

The triton is a great answer but I didn’t really hit it enough to suggest it. I suspect that it will be a popular answer.

2016 m1/m2. Performance was good(especially m2) but structurally they didn’t hold up to high speeds.

I did hit a BombTech Grenade driver and hated it.....

The SLDR 430 had a sweet spot so small they needed to use the CERN hadron collider in Europe to theoretically prove it exists

However I just couldn't put it on the list, I swear I hit the sweet spot once and it was magical

The 915 I had turned out to be a big disappointment. Horrible sound, so spiny.

100% agree. I LOVED the way this driver looked at address, ooooooowwweeeeee it was nice and sounded even better! But it was SO fade biased, a miss was in a backyard pool.

second to the FT Tour, another great looking driver at address and sounded good too. Could not get one air born if I tried and I could not stand to look at a 12* driver hear either.

I also hated the 2016 M1 460, but loved the 17 M1 440... what are the real differences?

Titleist 915 D3 was a dud for me. Hated the sound and feel - even after some hotmelt.

Ironically, I love the Ping G so much I haven't even considered the G400.

I nearly put the 2016 M range but feared being ridiculed. Less white and a better sound and feel in the 17 version.

Titleist 915 for me. Just hit high cuts with it no matter what shaft I tried in it.

Triton for me. Hit a friend's and I loved the stock Aldila shaft, but it seemed to go nowhere and the feel/sound were terrible.

I think the original Nike Covert slides in within the 5 year timeframe. Felt awful, sounded awful, small sweetspot... I can't remember much that I liked about it.

Woah. You're talking about the 2016M2 AKA the GOAT. I guess my paltry 115 swing speed (on a good day) isn't enough to crack it, I know you bring some serious heat though. For most, the 2016M2 is pretty tough to beat.
