Just got back from a big golf trip and we were all in shock of TW legitimately being back and contending in majors.

Their writers are mostly awful, however Bill Barnwell in football and Zach Lowe in basketball are two of the best in their field. It should be noted these guys were hired by Bill Simmons for Grantland and then taken by ESPN after they settled with Bill and he had to wait a certain time before creating a new site.

I was literally signing a business up for Direct TV the other day and I was shocked on what getting ESPN does to the bill.

Wow, I'm surprised the majority his top 10 shots came from the PGA Championship this year. You would think it's the only tournament he's played watching that highlight reel. I feel like he just as good shots if not better in several other tournaments this year. Don't sell the guy short.

Yep, they went from getting something around $2 per subscriber back in the mid 2000's to getting something closer to $7.50 per subscriber these days. So, while they are losing the total number of subscribers, their revenue has gone up significantly and they show no signs of slowing down those increases in fees. It's things like this that make a strong case for why a lot of these companies don't want to go to the a-la-carte model for channels. Not a ton of people who actually watch ESPN but they include it in the package that a large majority of people want based on the other channels that come along with it.
