;Seems TM made such a 'big deal' about 'twist face' they now can't figure out how 'gracefully' walk it back!... image/swoon.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':swoon:' />

(Any introduction 'delay' is probably due more to a 'marketing campaign issue', than any lack of a new driver product to replace the 2018 M3/M4)

My guess it's because SLDR C 2.0 is in the works and it's so good and so long, they don't want to overwhelm us.

You may actually be 'on to something' with that comment!... image/good.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':good:' />

(Returning to a more 'Classic' Driver design would be a smart move for TM!)

Easy to love the look of 'Classic' TM design!. image/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

2016 M2 driver and fairway were the best clubs they have made. Low spin. Set up perfect. Wish I still had mine.

I’m still playing my 2016 M2 driver. I’ve debated on giving the G400 max a whirl but haven’t yet. I have a buddy that is a touch longer than me and he hit some pretty drives with his 2016 M1. He has a Rogue now and I’m right there with him or past him a fair amount of the time. I told him he needs to go back to the old M1.

M2 may go down as one of the best of its era but as a prior M2 owner I can tell you 100% that newer offerings are better on miss hits. If you hit center or at least high toe all the time, don't bother switching. But if you have any low hits or anything even >2mm heel of center... look into new stuff. The Srixon 785 blows the M2 away on ball speeds below the center line, so did G400.

I hit it pretty solid most of the time and my miss is slightly toe side. I may still give the G400 max a try eventually.

Noticed that one our local pro's who is a big Taylor Made guy has slashed the prices of everything he has in stock with the M3 and M4 logo so we can't be too far away from getting some news. One thing with Taylor Made is that they don't have the massive waiting period or "seeding" like we see with Titleist. Seems like TM are good at announcing it and then having it available to buy shortly thereafter.

sorry for being off topic from the OP but what shaft did you put in your Rogue. I am a high speed high spin player as well and I have the rogue sz with a gd tour ad tp. I'd like to get the spin to around 2200 if possible

I would play with tipping depending on a couple of things. PM if you want to discuss this more

Glaciers look fast compared to Titleist's strategy...

A quick Google search shows the last two TaylorMade announcements were on Dec 6, 2016 and Jan 2, 2018, with retail availability dates about a month and a half afterwards. So they're not super quick, but it's not terrible.

It does lead to a good question. TM ruled the metal woods roost for at least the last 10-12 years. Checking with my local stores (big box chains), the big winners the last two years were Callaway and Ping.

Do you guys think this is a temporary blip, or is TM in a bit of trouble - they definitely have to find some way to recapture mind-share.

Uhh, yes. This is a company that once divested from Adidas was sold for a pathetic 400mn. This is a company that in 2015 generated more revenue than Callaway, and yet Callaway is worth 4-5x as much.

Problem with Taylormade vs. Callaway and Titleist is that they have a higher portion of high-margin segments (mostly golf balls and accessories). Metalwoods and irons are actually one of the lowest margin segments.

Hope this helps - I'm an Investment Analyst in my career.
