Return after Achilles' Rupture

Hey guys,

I ruptured my left Achilles' tendon Memorial Day weekend playing basketball. I'm 38 years old, and wanting to get back to golf (hanging up the basketball shoes, after a couple decades of fairly competitive play).

My PT has given me the green light to take full swings, but I'm uncertain how to "get back into it" after a long layoff.

What are you guys focusing on after such a long layoff? Do you start with tempo? The basics (grip, posture, alignment)? Drills?

My left tendon/calf are pretty weak, but that's not going to change for a long time.

Has anyone come back from an Achilles' injury?

Same tendon over 10 yrs ago-was 33 or 34 doing the same thing. Started from the green to the tee. Basics are good, but getting your body back is the most important thing. After my year off the court, played one more pick-up run then threw the basketball shoes in the trash as I left the gym. Full-time golf addict now!
