MGK-Rap Devil

Can’t wait to hear Eminem’s reaction to MGK’s Rap Devil. For now, let’s have a brief moment of silence for slim. MGK did his thing. Any opinions on the beef?

Not sure about the beef or why there is one, but generally anyone going up against M gets crushed.

Yea, in Not Alike on Eminem’s new album he calls out Machine Gun Kelly saying “you already know who you are, Kelly. I think he is calling him RKelly because Hailie was 16 at the time. Anyhow, MGK came back hard and all of a sudden the rap industry seems fun

I watched the video. I like the part where he's eating cereal lol. The song is actually pretty decent but it feels like a publicity stunt more than anything.

MGK did his thing and deserves credit for not laying down like the rest of the guys named on Kamikaze. He also had some valid points, I mean Em’s last 4 albums haven’t been great. Em had to drop Kamikaze cause the previous album sucked so bad. And, he did say he call Trick Trick to keep MGK out of Detroit. Kinda a b**** move from someone that established.

Eminem released a video of him playing Pac-Man for 3 minutes without saying anything... MGK has Pac-Man tattoos on his collar bones. Must be a sign that he’s coming for MGK’s head.

I’m willing to bet MGK already has another track on deck ready to go since Eminem is taking so long. I kinda figured for a “rap battler” he would respond to something this significant a little quicker. Not like he’s doing anything else

MGK has been around for a lonnnng time already. He isn’t going anywhere. Em’s been trying to suppress his career for years already through all his connections and hasn’t succeeded. If anything, this put Machine Gun Kelly into legend status. Nobody has ever really come at Eminem like this before

I’ve got to agree. The fact that he hasn’t responded in almost a week says more than anything he can put in a diss track. If he’s such a lyrical master he shoulda answered by now. Makes me wonder if MGK hit some nails on the head? Tough to argue the truth if you’ve been caught.

I dont listen to much of todays music (I sound like a grandpa yelling "stay off my lawn") but loved Em's stuff back in the day. I thought his first 3 albums were stuff of gold and the Eminem Show maybe one of my fav all time albums, just something about angry Eminem that draws me. I had only heard of MGK thru a performance of his on WWE and maybe looking up cover stuff on youtube I think there was a video of him covering All the Small Things. I listened to rap devil and thought it was good, not as good as rap god IMO but still decent. I, like yall, am just waiting on the response.

Side note- Ja Rule's career got destroyed by Em and 50 so Im sure MGK knows what he can do. I wonder if going after him was a good decision bc on one hand it probably got a lot more views/clicks on his music but if Em comes back hard it could hurt him long term.

Yet half the people that listened to it said “who’s mgk?”. He’s been around a while, putting out mediocre music. He took his big swing and threw everything he had in 1 song. Em has 3 projects and tonight’s MNF kickoff to get ready for. And I’d imagine he hasn’t released anything before kickoff tonight for a reason, likely that they told him not to....

A fan/artist named Denace wrote and recorded a response named pac man (I think) under the name Stan (from Eminems old song). Sounds a lot like Em and wasnt too bad, there were a few really good bars/disses and the chorus was pretty good but havent found anything actually from Eminem.

I'm not too into this but I had one of the best summers of my life back in 99 and the SS album was constantly in the background ; )

Yeah I watched Parts 1 and 2 of the interviews with Sway. Part 3 was loaded tonight. Em wants to eat him up but doesn’t want to shine his name up for him and give him any relevance. That interview was actually really good

Killshot...I was expecting more from Em considering how long it took to respond. Good song, not great. Kinda like his last 10 years.

Considering how much play MGK got off his Flex interview and Rap Devil I think he eeks out a win. I’m interested to see how his next album sells compared to Kamikaze.

Em gets the W from me but Im biased. I thought it was a decent response but I did expect more. I understand its not supposed to be a single like song but I miss his old style. His new stuff seems a little more choppy and doesnt rhyme quite as well as it used to. Still a good lyricist despite that, and the line about giving you a career was great. Good luck to MGK on his response.

Killshot was weak. There were a couple good bars but it was quite underwhelming and in no way, shape or form is it denting MGK’s career. “Ending” MGK’s career is a hilarious statement. I wonder where Eminem gets off calling MGK a mumble rapper? Kinda obvious that a lot of MGK lines went over peoples heads including Eminem’s based on his response which is disappointing. I thought Eminem would bring some fire but he only brought a match

Missed the part where mgk performed Rap Devil in concert in Michigan (Grand rapids). MGK already dropped rap devil, sounds like Eminem is making excuses (or people are making excuses for him) to me but that’s just my opinion

Em destroyed MGK with Killshot... Rappers of today’s generation should refrain from going at old school battle rappers of years past...the gap in lyrical dexterity varies too much and so does the skill. Kinda like Drake going at Pusha T and then Drake’s camp calling a press conference after being absolutely decimated on King Push’s “The Story of Addidon.” 10-15 years ago that would have been the end of the losing side’s career. Newer aged rappers might rely on an image, punchy hooks, and hot beat productions to get an edge but real hip hop artists (ie, Nas, Eminem, Jadakis, Kendrick, Pusha T, etc) rely on lyrics that are rooted in facts to humiliate the people trying to take their spot.

Destroyed is a far reach. Eminem used to be good at stuff like this but this was soft. Real rappers are forced to sellout nowadays and try to make hit songs because their “real” stuff is too real for radio. Eminem did it which is why his last few albums haven’t been very good, Kendrick did it and he admits it. Sure Eminem was/is a top selling rapper but that was back when people actually had to buy a cd. Nobody buys albums anymore. These in fact are 2 completely different style artists doing their own thing that appeals to their own audience. Said it before and I’ll say it again... Eminem stole rhyme schemes and lyrics from other rappers on this new album so as far as I’m concerned he swung and missed

Real rappers are forced to sellout??? Probably for their labels but “real rappers” have bills and responsibilities like everyone else and the labels are businesses that rely on their bottom lines to survive so... The model in how the labels contractually obligate their artists is sickening and it causes a saturation of mediocrity, from the artisits, in order to fulfill a commitment. That said, this is all subjective. I think Slim ethered MGK. You don’t... there’s no wrong/right answer.

FALL OUT BOY FANS ACCUSE MGK OF TRICKING THEM INTO EMINEM ‘KILLSHOT’ SHIRT PHOTO

But just when we thought Em has gone back into a hiatus again, he came back hard with a reply called ‘Killshot‘ which contained some scathing lines aimed at Machine Gun Kelly. Shortly after, MGK dissed the rapper on stage during a concert in Orlando, Florida and later showed off himself wearing the cover art of ‘Killshot’ on his T-shirt and thousands of fans behind him co-signing with their middle fingers up.

MGK reportedly asked the fans at the venue to put their middle fingers in the sky while he gets a photo taken but at the time, he was wearing a jacket on top of the “Killshot” T-shirt which he took off without facing the crowd. Once the picture was clicked (which ended up on his IG), he turned around to expose the shirt and was immediately met with crowd booing as they realized what had really happened.
