Srixon 85 series vs Mizuno 919 series

Anyone hit them both??? Recently hit the srixon sand was really impressed! I think they look better than the previous 65 series. Haven’t seen the 919s but reading comments they look nicer than the 900s!

Toss up here. Being hitting both. Both are very soft and look great. Found the 785s sounded a bit 'clicky' like Titleist, but softer.

Only thing your gonna notice between different t brands is what you like and dont like, to everyone that's gonna be different....performance wise they are same, just depends on the golfer

to me it would be a lot to do with the turf interaction for the 785 vs Forged.

The Tour is certainly closer to a blade.

Both companies are producing fantastic irons. It may come down to visual preference.

I noticed the lofts are diff., if that matters to someone trying to decide on these 2?! Price too. ;)

I hit them both during a fitting yesterday and they perform the same. Really comes down to looks, chrome vs darker finish.

Have not hit either yet so I will go on looks. I would consider the 785 and 919F to be comparable as srixon is coming out which will compare with the tour. The 785 looks better in the bag, more compact(thinner topline, less offset) than the 919F which is disappointing because I have and love the 900F but unfortunately my next set will be the 785.

785 I would say is in the xforged and ap2, V6 bracket.

A fairer comparison would be 585 to the 919f. Huge Mizuno MP fan. If you like to hit it shorter, be less forgiving, worst feeling but have a slightly thinner looking club than 919F is probably your best bet. I think most people would benefit more from getting am MP in the short mid irons and throwing in some HM. Those are the real deal.

Can't go wrong with either. Only thing I will say is it might easier to blend 585/785. The gap in forgiveness between Tour and Forged seems bigger.

You really should try the Wilson V6 as well, I just demo'd all of the ones mentioned and ended up with them when I went head to head with same shafts. I won't go on about it, but it surprised the hell out of me. Beat out new Mizzies, AP2, Rogue Pro, P770.

Couldn't agree more about 919s. I love my 900 forged and was very disappointed with how chunky they were. I did not like how they looked at address at all. Many people think they look great though so obviously these things are subjective.

The 919s are really nice, as are the 785s but for me it comes down to looks in the PW when I can not decide. The 785 PW has a less noticeable offset than the 919, so I'd go with them for that reason alone. The 765s were nice looking on the cavity side but the offset and rounder lines turned me off... 900f felt great, almost bought a set instead of 716 cb but the PW looked terrible to me.

Coming from PXG 0311 and 0311XF, the 919 Forged looks great. The more I hit them, the more I notice how soft they are, and with the addition of the miniscule amount of boron, they also look great and last longer - 2 months in the bag and no chatter. Look, Mizuno went for a little more forgiveness (and distance) with the 919F, so the slightly thicker topline and slightly wider sole for more effective bounce may be not for everyone, but I really like what they've done with the 919F. I'm more of a function over form guy - but these are a great balance of form and function.

I agree with Swingman, Mizuno's are going to look better longer, but the Srixon's feel so much better. I went with the 785s.

Played my third round with the 85’s Sunday and I am loving them more and more each time I hit them
