Ping adjustable putter shaft in new putter head

Apologies if this is in the wrong section but after searching the forums I haven’t been able to find anything on the idea below.

Has anyone ever removed one of the Ping adjustable putter shafts and installed it in a new putter head? Is there any reason this couldn’t be done, do these adjustable shafts also have the ball bearing inside? Would this be conforming if done?

Also, is there an easier method to install an adjustable putter shaft that I am not aware of?

I didn't try to remove a double bed from a ketsch a while back and had a horrible time.

Agree, in theory it shouldn't be a problem at all. Just realize that a different shaft weight (I believe the adjustable shafts are heavier - but not positive) may lend itself to needing a different head weight and/or grip weight than what normally would fit.

Pulling Ping putter shafts can be a pain. I had a hard time with a Nome TR. Numerous failed attempts. Finally managed it - there was no baring but it took about 40+ secs with a butane torch before I finally got it to release.

According to the product video - it's non-conforming with the rules of golf. Really more likely intended for fitting (or for those who don't care about conforming with the rules).

Plus, it's a .370 shaft and the Ping shaft is .355.

I don't know all the tech, but I'm fairly confident Ping's "adjustable shaft" has more to do with the grip, than the actual shaft.

I have had the opportunity to putt with the new Sigma2 (Fetch and Anser models) with the new extendable shaft. Very slick and easily adjustable. It has one major drawback, IMO. The shaft is very flexible and it is very noticeable. I cranked it to the 36" mark and to me it felt out of control as there is a very noticeable deflection of the shaft on take-away and in the change of direction (also at much shorter lengths). Likely due to the fact that the shaft is completely parallel for it's full length and doesn't taper or step up to a normal .600 width at the butt.

The OP might want to keep that in mind if he considers it for another putter head.
