MB 718

My local PGA STORE has a set on display so I was able to check it out.

I really like the look and feel of the head. Not sure I am sold on the Project X shaft, seems a little bulky to me. But the head has the closest to what I would consider a true MB design with the weight being centered in the meat of the club. I compared to Mizuno MP 18 and although I like the look of the head it doesn’t seem to have the weight centerness of the 718, if that makes any sense. I felt like it’s weight was too dispersed and not concentrated enough in the meat section of the club.

I did not hit either club as it wouldn’t tell me anything unless on grass.

Not in the market for new clubs. Don’t think I could ever find anything that would replace my fg 17’s both in look and feel but I do like to keep an eye out for whats new.

Does anyone have similar impressions? Different ones? Love to hear.

Oh my store doesn’t have anything in Szrixon that looked like a true blade. Not sure what the company has in the way of blades?

Srixon had the 965’s and also have new blades coming to market.

From a looks standpoint i have always prefered the Mizuno look. Just fits my eye better. Performance wise i have always done better with the cobra MB’s. Dont ask me why

I think the 718 mb looks gorgeous! I like the feel of them as well. Tried them with both Project x 6.0 and dynamic gold x-100.

MP-18 are very similar but with a thicker top line. You can't go wrong with either of them.

If you demo them of the shelf be aware that the lie angle is quite different between the two. That might impact your experience a bit.

718 mbs are my least favorite blades on the market from the big boys. Prefer the MP 18s, p730s, and Apex MBs (in that order). The titleist look amazing but not a fan of the offest and the feel is subpar compared to the others especially the mizzys. Obviously that is a relative statement cuz all blades feel great to an extent but the MP 18s are something special. They look amazing and feel even better. Almost feel as good as the MP-4, which i am convinced is the best looking/feeling blade to come out in the last 10 years.

Was between these two last month in my fitting. Went with mizuno. I came from 712 mbs and they just didnt have as good of a feel to them. Much more compact head though over the MP18, but the mizzys just felt too good

I learned with older MB that had COG slightly high on the face and forward, but fractionally closer to the heal. I played Titleist original 670MB's for sometime and still bring out my old MacGregor 1025MB butterknives when my swing gets stinky.

Titleist 716CB, 716MB, 718MB are very similar. As I understand, the MB COG is centered on the face, slightly low and towards the back of the muscle. That's where the forgiveness comes from and reason contemporary MB's are much easier to hit or more forgiving than older design MB's.

I been playing standard PX 6.0, 5.5 and PX flighted 6.0 since 2007. They are not for the majority of golfers, as they test the user and feel a bit stiffer than most "S" and "S+". :beach:
