How often do you change your driver?

I had a friend who brought the Callaway Epic and he swore this is the best thing ever. He liked it so much he bought 2! And guess what? I saw him with a new Ping G400 driver 2 days ago.

He said he still has a brand new Epic driver.

This year was my first time since the G30 was released.

Well I tried to replace my 913D3 with a M2 but we reconciled our differences.

On driver number 4 for the season......

Slow year so far Epic, Epic Star and Ping G400 Max.

I don't change as often as the typical WRXer for sure. I like to buy used drivers at a great price so that if they don't work out there is no big loss. I bought a lightly used 913 D3 back in 2015 and am still using it. I would really like to get fit and try out Ping's latest offerings.

I bought an Adams F12 LS in 2012 and played it all the way through 2016. I started a revolving door since then (Ping G30, Ping G, Callaway Rogue, Callaway Epic, TaylorMade M2), but am finishing the season with that same old Adams. The G400 Max has been calling my name, but I’ve resisted so far.

Very infrequently.

I changed last year because I gave my old one (about 10 years old) to my son. I've goofed around and tried a decent number of others - mainly from trying out friends clubs and a few at stores. My main impression is that once drivers hit the 460cc mark many years back (plus a couple of years for a bit of refinement) there's not been anything meaningful for me to gain with getting the latest models. They all work fine for me (haven't hit one I didn't like), but they all work about the same, too.

I'm pretty bad with changing drivers and I know I need to stop searching for a game by buying more equipment. I have stuck with the same Irons for years at a time but

the woods seem to get replaced when the "Latest Greatest " launches.

I think Ive had maybe 5 drivers in the last 30 years.

Still playing with a Ping G20. Prior to that it was a G5. I got them both when they first came out, and If I hadn't cracked the G5, I might still be using it.

Lord knows I try hard, and I have bought at least 8 drivers since the Ping G25 went into the bag, but the G25 keeps finding a way back in.

Still playing a G30 if that’s any indicator.

Since 2008, I've only played 3 different drivers.

I typically change my driver every 2 years sometimes a little more frequently.

I have a real problem. I get something new every couple of months, but rarely sell any of them. My sig has my current players listed but I have an ST180 and a TEE EX9 Tour that I just finished setting up. Haven't hit them yet. I tend to just get someting when I like the looks of it.

Used to change them annually, sometimes more often.

Since around 2011 I've used the Rapture V2 for about 3 years, the Bio Cell+ for a year plus and now my Fusion is about to start year 3.

Always look and of course, the G400MAX has caught my attention but I get damn near perfect ball flight, rollout and consistency from my Fusion so, "realistically" (whatever that means :rofl: ) there's really no reason to keep looking,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, is there ? :russian_roulette:

I’ve used the 910 D2 since 2011. Demoed some other clubs like anyone would, but I haven’t found a driver that gives me anything the 910 doesn’t.

Still using my Titleist 905R. We have a love hate relationship, when she’s on she’s on but when she’s off I may as well leave it I the car...maybe it’s just me ?

Just to give you an idea, whenever anyone talks driver, or most all clubs, I have to google it. I have always felt OEM woods are boring and lack aesthetic appeal. There are better options in my opinion.

A really good, deep updated fitting every few years is the way to go. I say this because I’ve spoiled myself to the point where I won’t play stock driver shafts. ??‍♂️

My current driver is just over 7 years old. No plans to change. I’ve tried other newer drivers, but never found anything better. And this many years into it, I’m comfortable with old faithful.

5 drivers over the last 3 years. That being said it would have been 4 but I won a Rogue earlier this year so that gave me an excuse to do a fitting and trade it for full credit (turned it into an M4). So far very happy with it so hopefully it will be in the bag for a couple seasons.

Once you find the right shaft, has there been any material improvement in driver heads in the past 5 years?
