ball spin rates

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone could help me ? My driver spin rate is through h the roof , I’ve got low spinning shaft and 8.5 degrees but it’s still way too much. Does anyone know if there are any pages on the web where they have tested balls to compare spin rates off driver wedge etc etc ?

I currently play the V1x but have been looking at the Bridgestone B330-s’ but reluctant to make the change before I can get some more info on spin rates etc

Any advice would be appreciated or recommendations on balls that spin less off driver than v1x and still give good to excellent wedge spin rate !

I have been looking for the same thing.

Callaway ix, ProV1X and TM Red LDP are about the lowest spinning tour balls with a driver. All of them spin well with wedges.

I have a 10.5 Tour Burner.

Unfortunately all of the above have alot more driver spin than: NXT Extremes or Big Berthas.

recommendations:1.I would look for a lower spinning driver head like the Tour Burner TP.

2. Have your swing checked to see if you are coming in too steep.

3. Try a lower lofted driver(Although 8.5 is not alot of loft).

what's your launch angle and spin rate off the driver using the ProV1-x? how high do you tee up the ball? what kind of driver do you have and what shaft are you using?

anyway, for low driver spin tour balls, you might want to look into the 08 Nike One Black, 08 TaylorMade TP Red, 07 TaylorMade TP Black, or Srixon Z-URS. you also might want to consider the NXT Tour.

bridgestone b330. hands down. give them a try, youll notice a huge difference :)

Golf Magazine published the spin rates of 50+ balls in there February addition, check it out it may help.

That being said I played the V1x for the last couple years and switched this year to the TM Red LDP and couldn't be happier! This ball is perfect for me, softer feel than the V1x, less spin off full short iron shots, better in the wind and a bit lower spin off the driver.

My SuperQuad with a Aldila VS Proto used to spin around 4800 for me. My Nike 5000 with an Aldila NV75 has my spin rate just under 3000.

So in addition to the ball you use you may want to take a hard look at your driver, I found my SuperQuad to be the highest spinning head of almost everything out there.
