The best Shaft of those is the one that works best for your swing.

It’s not the one that works best for everyone else.

Why are you set on buying a Triton? I think you could do better for close to the same price. Black Friday / Cyber Monday is coming up and this golf season is coming to a close.

I think the deal was that while the Triton was a mediocre (at best) driver, Wilson did a really nice thing and paired it with a bunch of great non-made-for shafts so lots of people were buying it just for the shaft it came with. There are a tonbof threads on it so I would search for "Triton shafts" to see which are the real vs made -for shafts.

Budget golf has them sale for $99, and I am thinking about upgrading my driver.

What is the good shaft for this driver? I heard about Rogue Silver but that is not available.

Budget golf has Rip Phenom, Rogue Black, Diamana Red/White/Black Tie.

I currently play Cleveland Altitude 588 stiff flex.

Thanks.

That may not be considered an upgrade.

The Triton isn't a bad product, and it's probably THE most adjustable driver ever made.

That said, I hit one at my last driver fitting in January, and it wasn't really that close to the Epic, M1, or G400 (which I ended up buying). I had the Rogue Black in the Triton, fwiw. If you are looking for a really inexpensive way to mitigate a swing flaw, the Triton is ok. But I just don't think it's on a par with the top OEMs stuff. Wish it was, but it isn't.

I play the Triton and it is just fine. All these new drivers are maxed out with M.O.I and C.O.R. They have similar performance regardless of what the marketing departments of TM, Callaway and the others would have you believe. For 99 bucks, it is a steal. (At $499, not so much.) Rogue Black stiff in mine. Feel is good. Some people complain about the sound but I don't think it is bad at all. I am happy with it. I bought the Triton with the intention of shortening the shaft and adding weight to the head. I thought it would be a cheap experiment, but this thing plays pretty darn well just the way I received it. Much more accurate than the RBZ Stage 2 it replaced.

FYI, COR is no longer measured. CT is the current rule.

Thanks. I actually knew that but couldn't remember the name of the new testing method. Still going to be at or near max, though.

Had to look CT up, new one on me. So it's Characteristic Time. The characterstic time GolfWrxers typically keep a club. Sounds about right to the coefficient. :taunt:

The Triton driver seems to be so devisive, with one of the biggest knocks against it being sound.

When I tried it out the numbers were good enough to compete with top offerings. The sound did not bother me because I use to play a Nike Sumo Squared driver. If I were in the market for a driver right now, I would give it serious consideration at $99
