How many years ago did you play your "career round?"

Thirty for me, I'm afraid.

Quite a six hole charge at the end, huh?

I'm 66 yo and it was 2 weeks ago. I tied my all-time low of 68. 11 Handicapper, so I was way out of my own league. One of those days when everything went my way. I followed it up with a back-to-reality 81.

    A few weeks ago shot a -5 67 on course rating/slope 70.2/118. Last year shot a -3 69 on a course rating/slope 73/143. I feel like the 69 was much more difficult to achieve.

July 2017. GAM Championship qualifier. Shot 70. While I did shoot 69 this year, the 70 was far better. Rained all day, we had a 1.5 hour rain delay after playing two holes, tournament pressure. I also didn't miss a fairway.

If I had my "game" that I do now when I was 30, which I was probably hitting it 30 yards more, I'd easily be a + cap.

Gosh, I don’t remember. It has to have been at least 8-10 years ago. I did shoot my best tournament round last month, about two weeks after my 55th birthday.

I think it was 8 or 9 years ago, I shot my only round in the 60's, a 69 (-2) at Talamore in Southern Pines. I think it was only about 4 years ago I had -2 (70) in our senior club championship, while playing off a 6 handicap.

These days, all my rounds are casual rounds. Don't keep a strict score but in my head and have shot 3 or 4 over last year. But, about 35 years ago, broke par on the back 9 to break 80 for the first time and win a lot of money in my club's Calcutta. Very proud of myself that I shot par on the 18th and that I came through big time in a tournament. To this day, I remember every shot on that back 9.
  • 23-years ago I shot a 6-under par 65. Playing in a scratch league two summers ago, I shot a 6-under par 30. If there was any chance I could have squeezed in the back nine, I would have. However, darkness was setting in as we putted out on the ninth hole. When putts are dropping, it's fun to see how low you can go.

It's been 8 years, when I was 34. Lost the card during a move, which is a bummer. Got within a stroke twice this year. Will try harder to keep the cards this time.

My best was back in 2007. I came very close to that in 2009 and twice earlier this year.

I did it (79) once each of the last 3 years, most recently about 3-4 months ago, and I had a quad on the scorecard so it could have been much better.

Unusual that I would have replied to this thread last night. I shot my career round this afternoon. Bested my round from 8 years ago by one today. Hit the ball well, and every single putt was falling. Pretty surreal.

Not sure my round this past weekend was my best round ever considering I've had a few scores within 2-3 strokes on more difficult courses and in tournaments, but at 64 (-8) it's my lowest ever. Course was just over 6500, 71.6 or so rating, 9 birdies and 1 bogie. Played solid tee to green, holed out a flop shot the one of the three greens I missed and was shortsided on, and the putter was hot. I've had a few sub 70 rounds the past months, but this round felt like it came out of nowhere +10 years removed from college golf and most weeks just playing on the weekends. Followed it up by an uninspired 80 the next day image/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
