tried both back to back in my search for a ball. Hands down the E5+ for me. The spin around the greens is up there with top shelve balls. I also just bought a dozen B330 (tried the B330 because I got them for $20 a dozen) to try and I get more spin with the e5. I would say for the price one of the best balls on the market, but no need to say "for the price". they are one of the best balls for me. Love them. Plus one ball for entire round is not uncommon.

I've read a few reviews about the e5+ having a higher-than-desired trajectory/flight. Does anyone here have that 'issue'?

I've read the same thing, and already have a very high trajectory. After reading all of the positives, I've ordered 2 Doz personalized e6's from Golf Galaxy. I had a $10 off coupon, and free personalization, so I guess that's how you get them for $20/Doz.

I went side by side with these 2 balls when I started back playing earlier this year. For my swing, the e5+ flew noticeably higher and a little shorter on all full shots whether they were off the tee or fairway. On the short game they performed "similar" for me. However, I have a terrible short game so my opinion may not be as valid as more accomplished players. I ended up going with the NXT Tour.

TBH the fact that Fortune Brands is an American based company had some influence also. Sorta offsets my Mizuno irons and TM driver :) .

I tried the E5+. I'd classify them as too much iron spin. I lost between 1 to 1.5 club lengths as compared to AD333 and E6+. After burning through the box of E5+ I stumbled across a Bridgestone ball fitting day and was given a two pack of the E6+. I tend to hit my irons high anyway so stopping the E6+/AD333 on the green from full to 3/4 shots isn't a problem. The E5+ is WAY better when chipping around the greens/sand but I can't use it due to what it did with my iron play. A ball may not drop your scores 2-3 strokes but I found that the E5+ easily cost me strokes when I used them.

Tough question. I think I prefer the NXT Tour as it feels softer to me off the irons and gets good spin on the greens. It also feels great with the putter as well!

I was wondering too if the e5+ really had that much higher ball flight, I hit a really high ball myself and have been interested in trying out some Bridgestone balls, but was scared of the e5+'s for that very reason. Maybe I will check out the E6+ then.

For those of you that say the e5+ baloons on you what is your swing speed? It sounds like it might be a good fit for me, but since I usually play in lots of wind I'm a little worried about the balooning issue.

I don't feel it's a matter of swing speed per se, just style of play possibly. My issue of ballooning was more with the iron shots than with tee shots. fwiw ymmv

I have a SS of 112 and play in the wind with a D2 driver and have never had a problem with the e5 balooning FWIW.

Thanks for the responses! This ball might work well for me since I don't often hit my irons overly high.

No worries. If your looking for a ball to increase you ball flight on you approach shots, the E5+ fits the bill. imo

Best of Luck to you!

ultimatley after all the input I think for $24 a dozen you can't go wrong.

I have in the last 6 months tried:

Taylor made TP red, Burner TP

Titleist ProV, Nxt tour

Bridgestone B330, E5

and I am sure more that I forget.

The E5 is in the top 2-3 of my favorite balls I have played this year. Rank #1 for 150 yards and in, where I can take dead aim, or a yard past the hole and get spin back. I personally won't spend more then $25 for balls. So its a no brainer. Like I said above I am now playing the B330 but got a deal of $20 a dozen. But still might switch bact to the E5. IMO the E5 is the best performance ball out for the price right now.

I am not a very good player, hdcp 15, but I love the E5+. I actually play 2 balls; the e5+ and the Noodle+. The E5+ is my ball when I feel like trying to work the ball and the Noodle is the one I go for when I want striaght rolling distance.

The E5+ scored well according to the Golf magazine ball test. It's spin rate was up there, maybe even above, that of ProV1 and I think the test was done at modest swing speeds.

I can fade and draw the ball, not with a lot of consistency or accuracy, but this ball definatley promotes that movement more than the other mid priced balls and like I said it moes just as much, in my opinion if not more, than a pro v1, etc. According to the article, it's the highest spinning ball in the mid priced ball range. The only other was a TX4 which goes for 30.

I also play the E6 when I want straightness but lately I have found the Noodle to be just as straight and longer.

Bottom Line is this - E5+ performs as well as or better than most premium balls so...why pay more??? plus I have yet to find another playing a bridgestone ball period, so there is no confusion as to who's ball it is. In fact most people say..."is that the tire company?"

Shoot man a 15 HC...your not bad either. You have to be pretty damn decent to be a 15...prob. just need to sink a few more 7-8 footers.

I am a 6 hdcp and tried the E5+. The ball flight was way too high for me; I was clearly at least 1 club shorter than usual. Ball had no shot into the wind; it got sucked up and seemed to go straight up. This is my experience with the ball; I was very disappointed.

Curious.... how many rounds did you play with it?, and what ball do you use most often?
