You would have to get used to rain and living in a sauna if you moved to a year round golf climate. It’s not as wonderful as you might think.

My cousin sent me photos from Calgary last night and I must say....I felt a touch suicidal just looking at them. Evil.

Luckily in Edmonton we got none of that. Still may have a few weeks left up here.

I like watching snow fall. When it's on the ground, I'm over it.

I put the clubs away 3 weeks ago. I won't touch them until March. Time to play with bows, guns, and snowmobiles!!!!

Snow last night just west of us accros the state line. Supposed to have some here this week (Great Plains). Looks like a pretty early end to the season (we’ll have some decent days yet, but just not the same )

We have a couple of cold months, but can still get on a course 12 months a year in AL. Thankful for that! It would suck to not be able to play 6 months out of the year!

Could never live north where winter dominates. I don’t however mind a short winter with snow, actually is a good break from playing and get to work on swing

I'm from Calgary as well, our course sent out an email on Thur (or Fri?) confirming they'll be closing for the year. Worse yet, they were 60% done rebuilding 5 greens that were supposed to be complete before winter and now that project is on hold until god knows when in the spring. Not looking forward to playing a 12 hole golf course all of next year.

People may joke, but my wife and I are very seriously considering moving to a warmer climate. Was only 5 months since our last 12" dump of snow.

you must be in Alberta right?

I dont' think the interior of BC snowed that much

I'm very happy to be in my wet mild Pacific Northwest weather.

Haha ive played the last two nights in a tshirt until dark here on southern vancouver island. Not such a bad place place to play all year long.

Preach on. When I last lived in CA we lived in Lake Arrowhead which is at 5K ft in the San Bernardino mountains. Only about 80 miles from L.A. but we got snow regularly every winter. Not like Buffalo of course but a good number of 4"-5" dumps and an occasional good size 18" or so that absolutely paralyzes that place. Didn't stop me from driving down the mountain to play golf but it gets old. So I always say now that I want to be the one that visits the snow. I don't want it visiting me because its a bad guest and doesn't know when to leave.

Small world. My wife grew up in San Berdo and spent a lot of time up at Arrowhead. image/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

While we are at ~4500 ft. where we live now, we are told by the locals that the snow rarely ever gets down to our level. And if it does, it's a sprinkling that only lasts minutes. We do have 9000' mountains very close by, and I will admit that I do enjoy looking at the snow up there. But this is about as close as I want to get.

Honestly, I don't know how you guys who live in snowy winters do it. I mean from shoveling driveways to driving in it for months...I just couldn't do it. Nice to visit the snow, but that's about it for me. Kudos to you guys.

Just keep that snow up where it belongs. Some of it escaped last year, got lost and wound up in

east central Bama. We don't want to see it happen again.

Supposed to be 65 degrees most of the week now.

They’re calling for 3-5” here tonight. Buts it been pretty warm the last couple days and back into the 60’s by midweek, so it shouldn’t last more than a day or two.

But we really haven’t had much of a fall season this year.

    I just can't fathom it...

My routine is surf in the morning, then golf after work in the afternoon.

A cold climate in winter would make both pursuits extremely unenjoyable.
